Dubas failure to realize Marner needs to be the QB on a team like Colorado or Stars, or yesteryears Nashville.

The second you need this guy to dig out pucks vs skilled players who are ALSO tough.

He can do it all season to the lesser players. But playoff teams have men who are just as skilled and he is a no show.

When Dubas singled out Marner as the one guy who will always get his way, that should have been my sign Marner is a bust because Dubas is trash and doesn't know hockey if his life depended on it.

Doesn't Mactavish project to be a number 1 c at some point in the future? Not an elite 1 but an average 1 who might be in the 75 to 85 point range. You aren't likely to get equal value if you trade Marner for NHL players.

If MacTavish is part of a package, sure, but not one for one. Leaf Nation would have a conniption fit.

It will probably come back to haunt us down the road but Marner has gotta go. I think it's pretty clear he can't handle the media, scrutiny, and pressure that comes with playing in Toronto. He looks like a different player out there come playoff time, him and Matthews both.

He is the perfect addition to a hard nosed team that can insulate him. Give him time and space and let him do his thing. I agree. I don't think he has diminished value at this point, but its getting close to that. I think people in higher circles are now quite aware of what happens to him in these situations
