Lots of conversation over the weekend that the two sides were far apart on an extension. I suspect that it's money and term. Evans is likely asking for Dvorak money and term. I'm not interested in giving 6 years to him at 28. I'm not interested in $4.45 million either.
With the slide over the last 7-8 games, it cements what most of us knew. That selling would be the course this year.

Interesting observation on Mittlestadt. He fits the profile of what their GM likes to target in terms of age and team control, but stylistically he's not really what they need.

No, but the teams have been asked not to announce them until after the tournament finishes in order to keep the spotlight on the tourney.
...I've seen this idea floated by some of the talking heads on TSN/Sportsnet, iirc...if it nets something good like a 1st or good prospect, I'd be happy...that said, I have always liked the way Evans plays...

...Evans is the kind of Bottom Six C that coaches luvs; high-end PKer who knows his job and has developed into a significant threat short-handed as well...that said, he is a Bottom Six C, so don't expect an offensive guy or you'll be disappointed...

I hear his offense has actually been quite solid this year but he might be shooting at a rate that isn't super sustainable
...his shooting percentage this year is WAY above his career average; like I said, he isn't an offensive guy...he's great on the PK and in his role in the Bottom Six...
