Commentators saying Abruzzese credited with an assist on that PP goal.

He's a hard player to project. PP wizard with unique IQ and really soft hands, but there's zero power in his stride and he's somewhat weak on pucks. No idea if he'll translate to a pro league, very boom/bust.

^ anaheim does well scouting, but pastujov is a very boom bust prospect who needs to work on his skating and pace from what i’ve heard and they drafted someone similar in benoit groulx.

They also whiffed on larsson in 2015, max jones in 2016, sam steel, but their last 3 drafts was fire.

No team is perfect in drafting ever. Compare their hauls versus any other team and it's pretty damn good over the last 10 or so years. A lot value and even star players outside of where most teams find those players.

This is why the Anaheim Ducks are one of the best scouting teams out there. They always find these players with so much value.

I had him in the low teens. The skating issues are so overblown. If you can produce the way he produced in his D-1 and D0 the chances of you being a very high impact NHLer is massive.

Made absolutely 0 sense he made it out of the 1st round. Really shows how stupid GMs are that he made it to the 3rd.

*not that Knies was a bad pick, but I'd have taken Pastujov over him without hesitation.

Knies' skillset will translate better to pro. Pastujov is definitely a good pick though; ANA, LA, and STL are just ridiculous in the mid-late rounds.

Side note but Knies picked up an apple tonight on a nice cross-ice feed and should have had another on a wrap around that Meyers missed. 5pts in 7GP and he's known for scoring in bunches so I could see a Miettinen esque rookie campaign, if not better.

Yeah I heavily underrated Knies last year. I didn't get the chance to watch any live games due to USHL and trusted incorrect scouting reports + lack of rise in production. Still had him as a mid 2nd round pick, but he's been way better than I believed.

Back to Anaheim though, I forgot they took Zellweger in the 2nd too lmao. Just a ridiculous draft. Too bad they didn't go for Eklund or Clarke over McTavish or they would look like geniuses.

What a mess the Marlies are. From a team that was the class of the AHL to terrible, and few players graduating to Leafs that successful.
