How long is he out for ?
Scott

I think he is talking about Steve Spott, who was the Marlies HC back in the Nonis days. He eventually became a Leafs assistant and was fired with Horacheck.

He was a solid coach, but not someone I really miss. Keefe was much better, and I think almost anyone can be better than Moore.

I have an unpopular take but I have Spott as #2 behind Keefe for best Marlies coaches in history. I have Spott ahead of Eakins.

I think his potential is better than a 4th line player but we shall see how that goes.

A 5g pace in Liiga isn't encouraging, even at his young age but I am hoping his going to the stronger team means the current stats are driven by minutes and usage rather than a lack of growth from last year. He is definitely a different player against his own age group so should be an interesting watch at the WJHC in a leadership role.

Well the Marlies have only really had three coaches haven't they, or was there a guy before Eakins? I didn't really follow the Marlies back then.

Eakins was good, but mostly because his teams were full of AHL vets. Spott actually had to deal with prospects, but neither come even close to Keefe. Spott is closer to Eakins than he is Keefe.

And of course, Moore is a distant last place.

Yes it's a 2 on 1. Yes he is returning from injury, but that needs to be stopped. One more bad month and Woll is done as a prospect.

He will get the rest of the year to prove himself, especially with Kallgren playing even worse than that, but he has to have goals like that going forward.

Fortunately, he has made some big saves so it is not all bad.

Sure be nice if one of the goalies distinguished themselves this year.

Gogolevs been quiet, he could get going too, that would help.

How come Mennel’s just at one GP?

Any word on Steeves’ return date?

Scott is rehab'ing faster than expected and Woll looked strong after a weak first period. Petruzzeli dominated with a .970+sv% in his ECHL debut and won't be there for long. In a month or so I could see the Marlies loaning out a goalie because they have too many bodies (Hutch, Kellgren, Scott, Woll, Petruzzeli all AHL caliber).

Last week Moore said Suomela and Steeves are "week-to-week", but he expects Steeves to return sooner than the former.

Anyone have any underrated/overrated prospects for the 2022 NHL draft?
