Pronman redrafted the 2020 draft and Niemela, Hirvonen, Artur and Miettinen all rose.
Hirvonen rose about 25 spots. Niemela about 30 spots. Artur about 30 spots. Miettinen about 50 spots.

Not bad for a prospect pool with undersized not talented players apparently
Where did Amirov go in the redraft?

To be fair, Pronman absolutely wet himself at our 2015 draft. Couldn't believe the guys we got. If you're small and skilled in juniors, he's very high on you. Ranked us as having the best draft along with Edmonton.

I mean, Niemela certainly looks worthy wetting ourselves over that draft on his own.

Still time to go, but dude is destroying the Liiga league so far this year.

Not like the Liiga is the Allveksaan or MHL leagues where you take it with a grain of salt.

Doing as well as he is in the Liiga, says a lot.

William Villeneuve off to a slow start offensively this year after getting his contract following a solid camp. He has 1 assist in 8 games to start the year.

The Sea Dogs are not doing too well. That's a team that's likely to blow it up this season.

I haven't watched any of their games so far. I read that they looked awful but looks like they won a couple in a row.

This was supposed to be a year they were one of the best. So much for that.

Vyacheslav Peksa picked up an 18 save shutout today in the MHL, Also only let in 1G yesterday on 14 shots.

Would be nice to see him in the VHL but Artur Ahktyamov is the starter there, I expect Peksa will just stay in the MHL for the season unless there are some injuries.

There’s a lot of negatives to this draft pick, but some good indicators:
- top ten in save % in the mhl league
- 1 of 2 goalies with top save % who plays for a bottom 50% team (the other goalie has played fewer games)
- most saves or top 3 at least
- losing record indicates team is not very good and they let in quite a few shots against

What are the negatives you see in him? From what I've seen it's just tracking pucks through traffic. Other than that I've been pretty impressed with his game thus far.

Just randomly looked at Hirvonens stats because they never get posted in here, and quite a slow start for him. 3 points in 11 games, - 6. I know +/- sucks, but he's not putting up any offence either.

Yeah slow start for sure. At #59 you are hoping for a top 9 guy. When you look at other Fins D and D+1 he doesn't look like much but he was a solid U20 and U19 offensive player. I kind of see him as a 4th line prospect but he isn't any worse than Komorov at the same age. The good thing is everything else he does is better than his offense and they have lots of time for him to percolate. I am a little more disappointed in Miettenin. Last year he was neck and neck with Carter Savoie as a later pick shredding college but he has fallen off the horse in a big way. Hopefully he starts getting some bounces.

I had a good bball gambling day today therefore I'm in a good mood.

Ovechkinov played 6:53 today. Sibir may be using a strategy where they move him around back and forth from the mhl to khl team to get him reps. I've noticed him bouncing around quite a bit. It's better than nothing I suppose.

Växjö Lakers - Frölunda HC start the game at 0:30

Maalikooste: Pelicans - Kärpät this site is a PITA as you have to turn off adblocker

- Peksa doesn't fit a good cohort of goalies that make it to the nhl. He was drafted as a D+1 with shoddy numbers. The only justification I can think of is that his weaknesses are easily fixable and he has assets that are incredibly hard to teach. Huge if.
- I've seen mhl games. The one advantage goalies have in that league is that mhl players are not the best shooters. It could be due to the defense/emphasis on passing or that there just aren't good shooters in that league.
- He's posting good numbers because he's a d+2. His d+1 numbers were not good
- I saw one game of him. He does look okay, but he's a d+2. My expectations are higher.
- His future can be hindered by the ak bars system. They have too many goalies and the khl is not focused on development.
- Not that I scout or follow goalies, but is he really the best choice? Gotta think about opportunity cost.
- I am willing to be wrong. I love being wrong when it comes to prospects. We haven't drafted a good goalie since rask (lol) or reimer.

2 medium danger opportunities against, 1 high danger against 5v5
pp: 1 high danger that rang off crossbar
2 medium scoring chances that didn't reach the net

Miettenen has had a slow start. He's seems like the only forward not scoring on that team.

He has 4 points. Team high is 5. Seems like they spread around the points and ice-time on that team. I know they roll 4 lines and they have 13 different players with 3 or more points (21 with at least 1 point, which is all but 1 guy who has suited up for at least one game).

Maybe not dominant, but certainly not slow either.

I think his potential is better than a 4th line player but we shall see how that goes.

I would be more concerned if he was expected to be a huge offensive producer, but I think his ceiling was always only going to be a 40-45 point guy with strong two-way ability anyways.

I hope he can eventually be Kerfoot's long term replacement, with better faceoff ability. That would be a huge win in my books.
