Douglas is PPG in this tourney if i'm counting right. Scores against his former team. If he can polish his D game and become strong in the dot he'll be an NHLer.

Hoefenmayer is another free wallet that has stood out this tourney. More physical than last season. Skating looks to be less of an issue after a couple off-seasons in Toronto.

And the invisible Nick Robertson has scored just over a minute in.

Dude it is different game, get over it. I watched Robertson last year and I did not like what I saw. He had a really good first game of the tournament, didn't do much in the second game and scored early in the 3rd

I stand by what I said, Robertson is not a NHL player right now but I'm very excited to see what he can do in the AHL this year

Seems about right to me. I think he looks the most professional of any of his teammates but he hasn’t stood out whatsoever as being “too good for the tournament.” I wonder what his ceiling will end up as?

I stand by what I said. You stating Robertson is "once again crashing back to ground" is comical, especially considering you admitted you haven't watched the games, dude.

Do people remember what Marner looked like in this tourney? Terrible.

Robertson has 2pts in 2.5GP here while PKing and being the best Leaf forward every night playing against guys as old as ~23. He's come as advertised for the most part.

His skillset will translate better beside higher quality line mates who can make something happen with his transition play; his game at the AHL level is more of a grinding style because he has to chase the puck with poor possession players.

Gogolev has been a bit of a disappointment so far. Hasn't created much of anything at all.

Marner looked AWFUL at this tournament. Very good point.

Just curious how he's looked in the first couple of games
didn't get to see them
he's been one of the defensemen who hasn't looked bad lol. hopefully bodes well for the marlies this season. that and petruzzelli and scott have looked solid in net. hopefully kallgren gets the game tomorrow.

I'd like to see Kallgren as well. Apparently he has a bruised knee or something of that nature.

Anybody getting a sense on Hellickson?

Seems like a pretty solid all around defenseman. Does everything average to well but nothing great. I think this is a bit of a lucky small sample size thing at the prospect tournament. I don't think he'll ever be much of a scoring defenseman even at the AHL level.

The best comparison I can think of right now when I watch him, he reminds me of a smaller Justin Holl.

I know Amirov mentioned last week that he is back to full health but needs to get his conditioning back up. Anyone know if he is expected to play this week?

Hellickson and Hoefenmayer have looked pretty good.

They are not really standing out, but have been quietly effective. I think Villeneuve is like that too, but both Hoefenmayer and Villeneuve have a lot more offensive upside than Hellickson.

I stand by the position that the Leafs should trade Kivihalme. We have other offensive options and he is not particularly good defensively. However, the main reason right now is that he takes a roster spot away from a younger guy. It is ridiculous that only one of Kral, Hoefenmayer, McCourt, Finkelstein, Kapcheck, Hellickson, or Pietroniro will be an extra on the Marlies next year with the amount of depth we have there right now. The rest would be the top 6 for the Growlers.

I have a feeling there will be another trade for the Leafs, since we have a bit of a log jam in the NHL right now (without even considering Gusev and Ho-Sang), so throwing him into a trade may be something the Leafs do.
