I honestly have no idea. Some people were as high as a 2nd round pick on him.

Sure, he played in a league that was below his skill level last season (D+0), but there are plenty of guys that play in that league his age or older so it's not outrageous. Loponen has played in that league this season and he's a D+2. Ffs the guy has the 2nd most goals in a season in the league ever with some random guy named Teemu Selanne being the only one to ever have more.

His path was strange, he's not the biggest guy, and besides his shot he doesnt really have any crazy standout skill. Seems like a bunch of teams (including the Leafs) kinda just said "meh" instead of seeing this insane upside.
How does he rank for goals with era adjusted do you know? Would he be above Selanne?

Rindell continues his fantastic season. A goal and 2 assists today.

Loponen with 2 goals today as well.
Excluding Valimaki (back with Flames), Rindell is tied for 2nd in the Liiga for points among defensemen. He's 20.

What Rindell's doing right now is pretty crazy. Higher PPG than Heinola (19GP) and only Sarijaarvi is ahead of him, who's three years older.

Everyone on that list is 2-6 years older than him. His offensive game is on another level it seems. The concerning part for me is that the LIIGA stat page interestingly keeps a plus and minuses stat and our boy Rindell is a -25 which is the 2nd worst in the entire league for a D-men. So that is not an encouraging sign for a defender IMO. I hope someone who's actually watched him more can comment on this.

He's a -6 (on for 19GF and 25GA). His team, Jukurit, is pretty bad in all areas. I've watched him and Kokkonen 2-3 times with a Finnish app/VPN. The consensus is that his D is an obvious area for improvement but it was never "stand-out" bad to me from what i've seen. His issues appear teachable and he at least competes defensively. Closer to Hollowell than Duszak, for comparisons sake.

Rindell is actually sitting 4th all time in Liiga in terms of PPG for an U21 player.

Sami Vatanen and Reijo Ruotsalainen (twice) are the only players with a higher PPG over a full season.

Edit: Actually with the 3 points today he's ahead of Vatanen's PPG (0.869 Rindell vs 0.857 for Vatanen) so he's sitting 3rd now.

No points for Veeti, they won 1-0 in OT. Only watched the 3rd, super boring game and they really don't give Veeti a lot of ice time.
Veeti gets plenty of ice. Again..we roll 4 lines and do not play match up hockey. We trust and expect any line to go out there and do the job. We're also not going to overplay a freshman in his first year on NA ice. He's leading the team in scoring but we aren't going to force it. His development isn't our main concern.

Yea I agree mostly; I'm a fan of rewarding your players with more ice time if they show they deserve it though. Makes his numbers look even more impressive, since it's not like he's on the top line getting top minutes.

Pretty silly way of looking at it. How would giving your leading scorer more ice time be 1) forcing it or 2) worrying about his development. I am not really worried about how much he actually plays this is just an odd statement lol.

I think that's a great process. It's college. Sport itself isn't the most important facet, lots of different lessons to be learned. I think that's a great approach to take.

It's not a silly way to look at it. One more time...this is a team that fairly equally rotates all 4 lines. Why? Because we trust them to produce in any situation. We trust that the best way for us to win is to roll our lines and keep attacking. Some of you are getting hung up on his position on the line chart without knowing that for us...that doesn't mean squat. Right now...on the chart...our 4th line is listed 2nd. Does that mean they get more ice time than Veeti does? No. Because none of them get PP time and only 2 out of the 3 get PK either.
You also need to understand again that this is his first year on NA ice and the league he's playing in is traditionally upper classman dominated. Teams that rely on or push freshman up the chart...no matter how skilled...tend to struggle because they aren't as physically or mentally mature enough to "lead" the team that way.
The fact Veeti is leading the team in scoring should actually signal that STC is doing this the right way.

I'm confused by JD Greenway? You have him listed as 2 games played, 4 goals, but 1 point?

Korshkov's production seems like it has fallen off pretty far in the 2nd half so far, anyone been watching games?

Still hoping he can become something for us
