Brooks tap in on the PP after Lilly's one timer is stopped. 6-2.
Also they changed Lilly's goal to Rosen

Impressive victory by the Marlies. 6-2 the final. Much like yesterday, got better as the game went on. They were the better team in the last 40 and defended in the 3rd well.
Only 2 games, but they are silencing my concerns of how much offense they would get from the forward group. Defence should be solid if Lilly and Sandin stay down.

Lilly is probably NHL ready right now but nothing wrong with overcooking. His aggressive in the neutral zone is good to see, and his confidence in rushing the puck has grown so much. Rarely gets beat on the outside. He and Sandin should be on the 3rd pair next season.

Robertson is adjusting but has had some nice flashes. I thought the last 40 he was really good. Should be fun seeing him when is comfortable. He can provide offense to the Leafs today as well. Needs to get stronger but wins his share of puck battles. His edges are nice but style is odd.

Loved Anderson's game. Good positionally and good forecheker. Pretty good skill as well. He was the reason for the Marlies 2nd goal. I think the 3 year deal will look like a genius move by Dubas.

Tavares was right about Liljegren's improvement. He was an all-star #1D in the AHL last season but this level looks like a joke to him now. Getting really excited about this kid long-term, even if it takes him a couple seasons to adjust to the NHL.

Be patient and Lilj could be a an all-situations workhorse for the Leafs blue line. The biggest factor will be how quickly he can read/process play at the next level but he has the tools to be anything from a top-pair guy to a top-4 anchor. He's shown that potential since the back stretch of his 19 year old season.

I'm not sure how good of an idea it is, to have two rookie D playing together in the NHL. Ideally you have a vet showing them the way, as a pairing... just not sure how to do that either. But both look very good.

Fair comment. I think Keefe has shown he is good at sheltering players, but with 2 young d man, it's tougher. The thing is both can play sheltered minutes right now.

Keefe's comments were pretty telling but accurate last season. He said Lilly takes time to get fully comfortable, but once he does, he's really good who can help in all situations.

This was said after the Florida game when Lilly was benched by Keefe.

There's been so much Liljegren slander by a few of you over the last year and I'm glad you are finally tuning into a Marlies game. The guy that pretends he was once a season ticket holder and the guy that has cried about not loaning Liljegren and Sandin to Sweden are awfully quiet tonight.

Im still here. Hats of to Liljegren for managing to develop despite all the obstacles he has had to face.

I am not sure what is going to happen next year but Sandin and Lilly are going to be the Leafs. How you juggle the rest of the D around, I don't know.

If they protect 4+4 in expansion, then you have Reilly, Brodie, Muzzin, Holl, Sandin, Lilly

If they don't lose Demott in expansion, then they got 7 D.
If they lose Dermott in expansion or trade him, then Bogo gets another deal?

I think Mikko is an NHL D but he is not going to get playing time in the crowded Toronto D.

Good problem to have.

I want to see Kral play because I think he could be an NHL D after a couple years in the AHL.
I am not a fan of the rest of the D, I think Rosen is a borderline NHL D who should just join a crappy team to finally make it.
