Koster is on a role. He has 2 goals and 2 assists in the 2nd period alone. He's up to 23 points in 33 games. He's improved his point production every year despite being behind a stacked D core. I would keep an eye out for him. He's an underrated prospect and hopefully we sign him to an ELC.
To be fair, the baseline expectation for prospects is that they'll put up better numbers and improve every year.

Whether you're in the CHL or the NCAA, when you're drafted at age 17-18 to when you're ~21 with several NHL training camps under your belt + more time to physically develop + you're older relative to the league you're in, you expect to see improvement.

Is Kosters improvement sufficient enough to warrant an ELC? I'm not sure. The guy us a 5'9 dman, so he has to be REALLY good to make it in the NHL.

Good to see, but his production is pretty similar to his last 2 years which isn't what you want to see. Not sure if he would even be a top 15 prospect at this point. It was always a long shot but his rookie season was very promising.
St. Cloud is a weird team to evaluate. They simply roll their lines equally. Not your typical deployment.

Something to be said about consistency but I don’t know if he’s earned an ELC at this point. Definitely get him on an AHL deal though.

If his KHL season is over, what comes next?

Is he eligible to spend any time with the Marlies now, or is that next season.............?
He's got a KHL contract until after next season, and he hasn't been signed......so he's not eligible to come here (there are ways, but...highly doubtful).

I guess there's a chance Magnitogorsk wants him on their 4th line for the playoffs (KHL), but probably they just send him to their junior team for those playoffs.

I read that even loaning him back counts as a transfer and they can't do it after the trade deadline.

Oh that's possible, I guess it depends on the specific wording of the agreement . It's just that sending young under-20 players to junior for the playoffs after their pro season is done seems pretty standard in Russia/Europe (like how Peksa is back in the mhl now).
