Total List of eligible players:

Voit
Grebyonkin
Kressler

Minten
Moldenhauer
Lisowsky

Voit and Minten are the only ones with decent to good chances

Grebyonkin/Kressler are playing/producing well enough that in a pure meritocracy they should get consideration, but neither has much of/any track record with the top level nation programs so it's highly unlikely. Kressler just doesn't have the track record playing at this level. Greb on the other hand was one of the best 03's in the MHL last year, and is top 9 in U20 KHL scoring this year- so there's a chance.

Moldenhauer would be getting consideration if he were American, but double whammy of no track record + USHL says no chance for Canada.

Lisowsky simply isn't that tier of player right now.

Edit- living in a hockey bubble, does Greb even have a team to play for or is Russia still banned?
Still no Russia.

I love Minten but I don't think he's going to make team Canada. Theres just so many forward options, its a huge uphill battle. I think he's there next time though.

I think it depends on if he can keep up this scoring pace. He’s already great defensively at the junior level, but if he can be a legitimate offensive threat he’d be a great asset.

But team Canada is very political. No Brandt Clarke last year and I’m prepared for another Connor Brown snub even if Minten does deserve a spot. Will never forget that year where Connor Brown was leading the OHL (maybe even the CHL?) in scoring and was left off the roster. Turned into a pretty darn good NHL player too.

Ya, the only thing about Minten is he is the epitome of a Team Canada role player. He right now is the junior version of Patrice Bergeron.

We might have some interesting prospect pool polls next year. Lots of guys on the farm having better than expected years.

Fingers crossed we get some WJC representation.

We should at least get Voit. That may be it though.

Although really, we don't even have too many guys who are eligible. Two years ago we drafted a pair of 02's (one made the WJC last year) and the one 03' we drafted may be able to crack his team. Then we signed Kressler, but he wasn't going to make Canada obviously. Last year, we drafted a trio of 04's who may be able to crack Canada in a year from now, an 03' who won't be allowed to go even if he was good enough, and then a triple OAer who was already too old when we drafted him.

WJC is not necessarily a big deal for North American players (which is what most of our picks have been recently). The two biggest feeder countries for only 2 teams. It is a bigger deal for European players since most of the ones who make the NHL are on those teams (Sweden typically has enough talent where a few from there do not), and we don't even have anyone technically eligible.

Hockey must be so fun for Ty right now. Remarkable run so far. It really is shocking how we would almost be disappointed if he had "just" a single point in a game at this point lol.

I keep waiting for this run to end, but he just seems to either keep the foot on the gas or punch it harder. Just when I feel like his hot streak has ended and he has finally crashed back down to earth, he pots 9pts in his last 3GP....

I see Liljegren didn't play on Wed in Laval. Setback or done with his conditioning stint?

Someone mentioned Stajan in terms of the organization's pleasant surprise with his pro level body positioning and hockey savvy at a young age.
