I would probably have

1. Knies
2. Niemela
3. Robertson
4. Grebenkin
5. Hirvonen
6. Voit
7. Cowan
8. Minten
9. Hildeby
10. Tverberg
11. Villeneuve
12. Kral
13. Abruzzese
14. Moldenhauer
15. Kokkonen
I agree with the top 4, I would put Cowan 5th though. It’s early days but the pick is definitely growing on me and the more I read the more I like.

He poached Zohorna as well, Marlies are going to be pretty bad this year.

We haven't even added anyone yet outside of a pair of LHD who were better than anything we consistently had last year, and we haven't lost anyone good from the team last year... which wasn't even that good so it could use an overhaul.

LW Nick Abruzzese – C Logan Shaw – RW Alex Steeves
LW Roni Hirvonen – C Pontus Holmberg – RW ???
LW Ty Voit – C ??? – RW Max Ellis
LW Kyle Clifford - C Braeden Kressler – RW Ryan Tverberg
LW Dmitri Ovchinnikov – C ??? – RW ???

LD William Lagesson – RD Topi Niemela
LD Maxime Lajoie – RD ???
LD Marshall Rifai – RD William Villeneuve
LD Mikko Kokkonen – RD ???

G Keith Petruzzelli - G Dennis Hildeby

Tychonick, Cavallin, McKay, and Cruikshank in the ECHL.

We need two more RD, a top 9 center, top 9 RW, a solid veteran 3G, and a bunch of depth AHL contracts.

Two of Pontus Holmberg, Bobby Mcmann, and Nick Robertson will be down there again. Kressler could use one more year in junior.

Is Hirvonen not due for the Marlies this year? Any word on his arrival?

edit: sorry, I missed that he is in the above projected lineup!

Huh, hadn't realised Robertson will still be waivers exempt.

Obviously understand the lack of enthusiasm for his prospects now, but it would be a really nice bonus if he does finally emerge as a decent middle-6 option (at only $796k!). His inability to (cheaply!) contribute to the secondary scoring has hurt us... Knies showing us a glimpse of how that could've helped this past playoffs.

May still be some shuffling to come among our forwards anyway... perhaps Robertson getting shipped out...

McMann won't be waivers exempt though... feels borderline he'd clear (I think from experience that usually means a player will clear haha, but it is the Leafs trying to send down a player, so...)

The Leafs since Shanahan took over, through Lamoriello all the way to Dubas, have been able to turn AHL contracts into very good NHLers. They made the AHL and the ECHL a legit great place to play pro hockey, whether they are from Junior or College or Europe. Marshall Rifai is the latest to go from AHL contract to ELC, but Johnstone is another. I hope this trend continues under Treliving and that they keep signing a lot of these players to keep developing.

I'm very surprised Ryan Hardy is still around. It felt like a position Treliving and the Leafs probably could have changed up completely. But I'll take changing up the entire coaching staff for now. We've had zero news here about it.

Yup. Since Shanahan has taken over, all of the following have went from Ahl contracts to Nhl Deals:
- Justin Holl
- Mason Marchment
- Kristian Rubins
- Curtis Douglas
- Bobby McMann
- Keith Petruzzelli
- Marshall Rifai
- Marc Johnstone
- Noel Hoefenmayer

It's pretty cool to see.

No ELC's or Marlies depth options on that list. Isac Hedqvist will be the main invite to look at for any kind of future asset allocation (could be a decent re-entry candidate next year). Otherwise I am looking out for the drafted guys and the guys who can maybe fill a spot on the Growlers: Tyler Weiss, Pito Walton, Nolan Dillingham, and Gianfranco Cassaro as possible AHL deals for this year; De St. Phalle at the end of the year.

Semyon Der-Arguchintsev traded to HC Traktor and signing a 2-year deal

It is the best place for him, and fits the timeline decently well. Marlies are stacked with skilled forwards right now, and he should be getting top 6 minutes with Chelyabinsk (hopefully as a center). Two years of improved play and he could easily come back and be a factor for the Leafs when we may need some secondary scoring... And he will only be 25.

What's the deal with Kai Uchacz? Undrafted 20 year old who put up 50 goals for Red Deer last year. 6'2" as well.
