Marlies lost game one, playing catch-up all night, came up short in the comeback 4-3
Sounds like it was a tight D game, just 43 shots combined from both teams

Who are you referring to? I assume Sandin is one and he was shown the door because they didn't like him enough to play in the top 6.
Durzi. He seems to be a 3/4 defenseman based on his performance in the NHL. Sandin was the other. Knies is the one who looks to be a top 6 forward. I can easily see Holmberg becoming a 3rd liner at this point too. It'd be amazing if we can get more from the other prospects on the marlies and now the 2020/2021 crop.

Add in the fact Amirov would probably be a contributer if not for the circumstances and no 1st round picks in 2019 or 2021.

I know. Imagine having him on this team? Still could in a couple years if things work out. I hope it still can for him and the team too.

Don't think this has been touched on, but notable that the Growlers have now made it to the Conference finals, having beat both Airondack and Reading in 5 games.

Not a lot to get excited about in terms of actual Leafs prospects, but notable that Kokkonen appears to be taking the opportunity for regular game time, with 3 G 5 A in 7 games. Almost every forward is above or around a point per game...

McKay has taken the net from Cavallin, putting up 2.34 GAA and .914 SV% after only so-so regular season numbers (3.06 GAA, .900 SV%. ECHL goalie numbers can be all over the place, but Cavallin definitely outplyed him at 2.56 GAA, .917 SV&).

Doesn’t look like Joe Woll has been reassigned to the Marlies yet.
He’d help the run, for sure.
And seriously….still no Kral or Villy?

Growlers advanced.

Huh, I saw this rumoured on EP last week and thought "that must be wrong, why sign him before he gets any KHL playing time?" I guess at least now the Leafs can loan him to a (probably bad) KHL team that will actually give him lots of opportunity.

Only thing I could think of. Unless we are going with 3 prospect goalies in the AHL with limited pro experience, and 2 of them have practically zero NA experience on top of that.

We'd have to really like Petruzzelli or Hildeby as the #3 in that case.

Surprised to see him get an ELC. Good on him, guy had a good VHL season.

Kallgren must be gone.

Not really any kind of surprise. He is a Group 6 UFA and will get better offers to be a #3 and potential backup elsewhere.

He hasn't been very good so the Leafs are probably better off hoping one of their younger guys works out than running it back with him.
