Should we sign Veeti or Koster when their college seasons end? Or are they good candidates to wait on into their final college season? Veeti still hasn't scored a PPG and they are both very small. Would a season dominating in their final college try be better than getting their feet wet with the Marlies/Growlers?
Mietinnen is looking like a non contract guy at this point. Give him another year, maybe he explodes (unlikely, but you never know) and gets a contract. I'm not sure he's even an AHL contract guy right now.

Koster is better but still debatable if he's worth a contract, probably in everyone's best interest for him to go back another year.

Miettinen has put up 34 in 39 this year so far with games to be played. Tverberg put up 30 in 35 and he just signed. Obviously, Tverberg is bigger, physically aggressive with a better resume. Both did this in their 3rd NCAA season.

Ovchinnikov and Rindell were late round picks without much upside and they took them on with ELC's. Max Ellis had much less on his resume than Miettinen and he was signed last summer and he has come in and provided some value for the Marlies. Ellis also had just finished his 3rd NCAA season. Neither Miettinen or Koster would be high on my prospect list, but given the lack of picks in recent drafts and a lack of picks in future drafts, given the names who have been getting them lately, they should probably throw one at these guys, even if they go back for their last college aged season. They're production while not impressive measures up with other prospects to get NHL deals in recent past.

I wonder what the hold up is with Niemelä. Been a week since they were knocked out but no word of him coming over anytime soon, all I’ve seen is that he’s “supposed” to be reporting to the Marlies after his season ends. With only 10 Marlies games remaining and two of them on Friday/Saturday, I wonder why it’s taking so long… in a situation like this would the Euro player be expecting to “move” here? Maybe spend time with family and pack up before coming here for a couple months? Whatever it is, I hope he does come soon because I was really anticipating watching him live to see what we’ve got
