Tverberg is Canadian. No vIsa issue.Wonder if Tverberg is a visa thing?
Although you'd think Ovechkinov would be slower with being Russian...although he's been here recently too.

So does McMann now get NHL paycheque while injured?
For me it's all about the Leafs ... so you know my thoughts.
How about hat-trick in losing cause?
For all the times that the Leafs have called him up, it is irritating as hell that he hasn't gotten more starts to see what we have in him.Woll is really intriguing. He’s earning himself a spot with the Leafs next year. His stats are unreal
Huh?For all the times that the Leafs have called him up, it is irritating as hell that he hasn't gotten more starts to see what we have in him.
If he can be a viable backup to Samsonov next season, moving on from Murray this summer should absolutely be explored. It would have been smart to get Woll into more games, including the last one against the Islanders to see...... unless the Leafs believe they have already seen enough from him.
So conflicted on the NCAA tournament. There's a lot of benefit to Knies to go straight to the Championship and end his collegiate career as a champion, but man some time on the Leafs before the playoffs would be a big deal.....provided that Keefe doesn't mess his usage up too. At this point, I am not confident that Keefe really does know what he's doing with the roster on a nightly basis, let alone with Knies coming in too.
Absolutely hate the AHL-NHL agreement that forces the Leafs to burn a year of his ELC and doesn't allow him to spend any time on the Marlies this season due to his age. Just in inane way to to do things, but hopefully Knies comes in and shows he can play and is best served up with the Maple Leafs instead of the Marlies...
Go Leafs Go!
Huh?
How is his age stopping him from going to the AHL?
The only time that matters is when they are drafted out of the CHL.
- Since Knies is already 20 years old, he is ineligible for an "entry level slide" which essentially extends everything by a year if the player signs his entry-level contract at either 18 or 19 years old before Sept. 15 of the signing year and does not play 10 games in the NHL that season.
Will he be eligible to play for the AHL's Toronto Marlies?
- In short, the answer is no, as Knies is ineligible to play for the Marlies this season if he plays a game with the Leafs after his college season concludes, based on the current NHL-AHL agreement.
Not his age preventing him from playing with the Marlies, rather letting his ELC slide an extra year that isn’t allowed due to his age.
I got that as well, but I can't see any reason why Knies would even entertain signing a contract for 2023-2024. Also considering that Dubas specifically kept 1 roster spot open and the maximum signing-bonus available, it doesn't sound like an option the Leafs are looking at either. It's not Knies age or the ELC slide. It's signing Knies to a contract beginning in 2022-23 that would prevent him from playing in the AHL. If Toronto signs Knies to a contract starting in 2023-24 then he can sign a ATO with the Marlies and play in the AHL the rest of this season.
Next season he can go to the Marlies no problem, no waivers required.I got that as well, but I can't see any reason why Knies would even entertain signing a contract for 2023-2024. Also considering that Dubas specifically kept 1 roster spot open and the minimum signing-bonus available, it doesn't sound like an option the Leafs are looking at either.
At this point my question is: if Knies signs with us for the remainder of the season, is he able to slide between the Marlies and Leafs if he needs to be sent down for development next season, or are there waivers involved? I would assume not, considering that Robertson is still waiver exempt next season, but wondering if anyone is 100% on it?
Thanks.
Caufield played in the NCAA, AHL, regular season NHL and NHL playoffs in one season.I got that as well, but I can't see any reason why Knies would even entertain signing a contract for 2023-2024. Boldy also went from NCAA -> AHL once his season was over.
Could be wrong but im pretty sure Knies will need to play 160 NHL games before losing waiver eligibility.
Should we sign Veeti or Koster when their college seasons end? Or are they good candidates to wait on into their final college season? Veeti still hasn't scored a PPG and they are both very small. Would a season dominating in their final college try be better than getting their feet wet with the Marlies/Growlers?
