Knies plays at 8PM EST tonight. Tverberg seasons likely over. I wonder if he makes the jump next year?
That’s three primary assists.Villeneuve with three points tonight
Starting to get comfortable
Watched him here in saint john and when he gets comfortable he is not flashy but consistently gets the job done
This kid is going to surprise in another year.
So much this. Jaxon is definitely a player that I hope Dubas was looking at when he was taking in some of Minnesota's games a couple of weeks ago. That’s UFA Jaxon Nelson isn’t it? Hmmmm…..
I hope so, I’d love to get some eyes on him.
Sounds like an intriguing guy.

Really interesting prospect, with size to spare, and a Centre? Chemistry with Knies as well? Very intriguing indeed......
No, they will probably have an automatic bid. If not, they will definitely be selected by the committee.Minnesota is losing to Michigan State right now (it's early). If they lose the game, is Knies NCAA season over?
Thanks for the input on Nelson.Size is really all he has unfortunately.
Skating needs a fair bit of work. He is a net-front guy on a really strong Minnesota PP and he still struggles to put up meaningful production.
So there will be a lot of emphasis on him working out as more of a defensive specialist, and I don't think he really has any standout qualities there either.
Marlies/Growlers need new depth guys for next year. He may have an outside shot as a rotation guy next year, but most likely ends up on the Growlers. For an AHL contract, he will be in the mix. If another team wants to beat that, let them.
Should Knies' team make it past the final 16 of the NCAA tournament, it looks like it would be impossible for him to get 9 NHL games to burn off a contract year like Abruzzese did last spring.
Fairly certain I saw some tweets that he came back for his next shift.Knies got injured last night
Hope it isnt too serious
Thanks for the input on Nelson.
What’s our take on Tverberg coming out this year?
Koster?
Miettinen?
Not as impact Leafs, but continuing their development with the Marlies as opposed to the NCAA.
Edit to add:
And likelihood of ELC’s for Marlies like Rifai and Hoefenmeyer?
Don’t agree with that but not really possible to get a definite answer until we see them both in the show. McMann does have 6 years on Knies as well so he should be more developed.2 goal game for McMann so far, 17 goals in his last 17 AHL games. Maybe be controversial, but I think he's a better player right now than Knies and should be strongly considered for our playoff lineup
He looked great, has good foot speed for a big guy, looked defensively responsible, good on face offs, not sure why Calgary didn't want him, Dryden Hunt was a bit of dud.Sohorna how gas he looked ?
Got a goal last night.
Yeah it's not a knock on Knies since he's so much younger, but I just think McMann's experience against men and skating put him a bit ahead today. It would be nice if there was a way to fit them both on the team, but we'll see what they end up doingDon’t agree with that but not really possible to get a definite answer until we see them both in the show. I would definitely prefer McMann over either Steeves/Holmberg though.
