About 35 mins to go until the deadline. Haven't seen any moves by the Marlies yet.
I'm not really sure that there is a move to be made. There is one player in the top 100 of AHL scoring, who is on an expiring AHL contract, for a team out of the playoffs... one....
We could trade for a guy on an NHL contract too, but we'd need to send someone back and we don't have many candidates outside of Kallgren.
In a cap world this is the play. Woll is making league minimum. Murray makes 4.6M, Samsonov will make between 3-4M. Save your cap space and give Woll a spot instead of losing him on waivers. At this point he's as much of a gamble as Murray. Worst case scenario you make a trade for Vejmelka midway through next season.
Murray-Woll has disaster written all over it.
I have no problems playing Woll, you can't pair the kid with a walking bandaid however
That's a great way to ruin the kid and screw your season
Your heart would be in your mouth every warmup
They got the bye to the semis of the big 10 tournament. It doesn't put them in the frozen 4 directly. They have selections to the NCAA tournament tomorrow I think.Im not sure how frozen four qualification works. Has Knies and the Gophers officially qualified for the frozen four? I know they play in the semis of the big ten tournament tomorrow.
Physically he's mature enough to hold his own .. you'd be dumb to not give him the opportunity to make an impact.
The question lingering is that can his game be reliable enough when it counts? That is can he be responsibly enough defensively while making a positive impact at the other of the ice.

God I hope not.I think it's more likely we go Murray/Woll and trade Samsonov's rights to recoup draft picks.
I’d say yes.God I hope not.
Do we see an NHL future for Abruzzese? Could he play 3rd line minutes effectively?
Playoffs count.Should Knies' team make it past the final 16 of the NCAA tournament, it looks like it would be impossible for him to get 9 NHL games to burn off a contract year like Abruzzese did last spring.
Playoffs count.
My guess is he’s done around the 8th. Coincidentally, Frozen 4 is held in Tampa this year, so he won’t have far to travel.Should Knies' team make it past the final 16 of the NCAA tournament, it looks like it would be impossible for him to get 9 NHL games to burn off a contract year like Abruzzese did last spring.

That leaves a 3 game trial by fire on the road through Florida- Panthers, Tampa Bay and the Rangers in NY. If he shows well against those teams it bodes well for him seeing some playoff action. He will have to outplay what Holmberg has done in my opinion. Show better scoring, defensive awareness and an NHL physical game. Even then it might only be as an injury replacement.
Knies plays at 8PM EST tonight. Tverberg seasons likely over. I wonder if he makes the jump next year?
Minnesota is losing to Michigan State right now (it's early). If they lose the game, is Knies NCAA season over?
