The fact that Rindell wasn't moved today indicates to me that he may end up getting signed by the Leafs, which is meh. Seems like a massive long shot, but the Leafs have had time for this type of D many times in the past.
If he moved over to NA upon signing, he'd likely just finish this year on an ATO and have his contract kick in next year. He shouldn't take up one of the few slots remaining for this season.
I think it is more of an indication that he is not a good prospect and nobody wants him.
Teams usually don't care/want offensive defenseman who can't defend, and especially don't want them if they can't put up offense either.
I wouldn't waste my time if I were the Leafs. Although if I were the Leafs, I would not have drafted him in the first place.
