pretty sure he's playing C for harvard this season

Looks like they have him listed as C the last ~5 games he played. Didn't know that he could play the position, I've only had seen him as a W since he first played at Harvard.

He has been a pleasant surprise. Went from clear cut ECHLer to a solid bottom 6 AHLer.

Probably the only guy right now with an expiring AHL contract worth bringing back right now (Petruzelli and Douglas still have another year, along with Kapcheck and Chyzowski) assuming Suomela and Ho Sang are moving on to better opportunities in Europe next year.

This guy excites me like no other prospect we've had since Matthews TBH.

He is just the full package. I think 1 more year in the NCAA is probably best for him, with an end of year ELC signing. He could act like a pseudo TDL acquisition by coming in at the end of the year and playoffs.
I still think they should offer him a contract the second his season is over this year. If he wants to stay in school that is perfectly fine but if he wants to turn pro? Turn him pro asap get him in house.

Knies and Aruzzese both looked solid. Both had a couple of good scoring chances with Abruzzese having the best chance from in close. Their line from what I read on Twitter had the highest TOI which makes sense because they killed a lot of time and didn't spend a ton of time in their own zone. Knies took a penalty in the 3rd period but it was a pretty good penalty to take since the Canadian player basically had an open lane to the net and he lost the handle because of the little hook. Ho-Sang also looked solid today carrying the puck and making a few nice plays to set up his teammates for scoring opportunities. Like Mike Johnson(??) said on the broadcast today, he makes a couple of really nice plays carrying the puck into the zone but he's missing that extra step to take it a little deeper to get a high grade scoring chance. He missed the net on every shot attempt it felt like.

Non-Leafs players wise. Dubas needs to do whatever it is necessary to entice Ben Meyers. He's so slick and smart and always in the right place and right time. He was the C on the crucial 5 on 3 PK late in the game. The kid does everything and he does it well. I think he's a future 2C (a fairly good one at that) and someone that we can really groom into the core. He'd seamlessly slide in on the 3rd line right now and contribute.

Prospects of other teams' that were notable, I would say Sanderson looked solid, Kent Johnson was solid too. Brisson was very noticeable in the offensive zone. Ferrell didn't really move the needle for me as he didn't really do much of anything today but still ended up on the score sheet. The pass he made to Meyers was nice though and smart. Habs have a good prospect there. Mason McTavish is frustrating for me. The kid was out there trying and just didn't finish. I think he needs to really step up and be an offensive leader for this team. Owen Power was steady, not great, not bad. I still don't know how he went first overall. He's a solid player/prospect but yeesh.

Rather than Ben Meyers, I'm intrigued by big Jack McBain #11 as he is rumoured to be waiting until after Aug. 15 and signing elsewhere as a UFA, possibly with his hometown Leafs .

He didn't particularly stand out today but is so big and productive with Boston College, I feel he could develop into a good 3rd line center which is certainly an area of need!

I’m on board with both.
There’s an opportunity for a big role in the next year/two in the top six, particularly at C if you envision JohnnyT sliding over to the wing.

Niemela goal with a wrister from the point. I've been impressed with his play from the blue line this whole season to be honest, really smart decision making. Knows where to put the puck to create best chances for his team.

Rindell injured shoulder/collarbone from a hit along the boards and has left the game in the second period. Looked like a heavy hit but the camera angle and replay wasn't the best, hope he'll be okay.

Niemela getting a bit of extra time now (PK minutes too!) as they are short Rindell and they already have their best D away at Olympics. Topi usually only plays on PP2.

With the amount of picks the Leafs have been trading it couldn't hurt to sign both and see which one you're right about.
