Yeah Cowan has been fantastic. It just feels like he'll make another big play soon. Minten has pretty solid too, he made a great pass to Dumais earlier and he couldn't score.

That Canadian team is just not good though. The top players are not playing like top players. Dumais, Poitras and Savoie have not been anywhere near good enough. Celebrini is probably the only top player playing like one.

What a tough way to lose the game especially when Canada had taken over after the first period.

Cowan had a very strong game and I wouldn't be suprised if he becomes a big game player. He has speed, skates hard in straight lines, takes the body and has good skill.

Minten was miscast early in the tournament and should have always been a lower line defensive specialist on this team.

This was a very poor overall team and most likely weren't going to win gold so it's not totally shocking they lose to Czechia.

Ive personally never witnessed this weak of a WJ team and ive been following hockey for 35ish years, no stud defenceman, no elite forwards, and goaltending was really bad. Coaching decisions were not the greatest either. Players looked extremely selfish for the most part.

Not a great team overall but won't make judgements on our players based on a quick tournament.

I remember the sky was falling over Knies mid-summer WJC lol.

Bad Canada team was bad... make a Leaf the captain and they go out in the first round... .#jokes. They shouldn't have lost to Czechia though....

Outside of Celebrini, we just didn't have a lot of offensive talent, and he isn't Bedard level to carry a team. I liked Lamoureux's game as well, I think Arizona has a gem there, though his full game may take some time.

Minten played Minten's game. He's not ever going to be an offensive star, and normally he'd be a fourth line type of Team Canada player, leading your defensive line. This tournament doesn't really change my opinion of him... he'll be a 3C/4C at the NHL level... leaning towards 4C... a Kampf replacement, and that certainly has value.

Cowan played well, but played on a very selfish line, where the puck wasn't distributed a lot. Plus, he's an underager, and they don't normally shine, unless you are a star... He probably gets a chance to return to Team Canada Juniors next year.

Tough way to lose. So many players could be called out for not showing up this tournament, unfortunately Minten would be near the top of that list. He was largely a non-factor all tournament, which can't happen when you wear a letter. As someone earlier posted, he was put in a position where he was likely miscast, and never really seemed to get any traction. That said, Mints was far from alone. Savoie, Poitras, Bonk, Beck, and Dumais all stand out for the wrong reasons along with Fraser.

At the end of the day, Canada was no where near good enough.

Cowen got better as the tournament went on, and bias aside I think he was easily one of Canada's best players today.

I do find it hilarious how much stock people put into this tournament. There have been plenty of players who have produced in this tournament and amounted to virtually f*** all in the NHL. Comtois and Hayton instantly come to mind on that front. Conversely there have been plenty of players who didn't produce and went on to having very good NHL careers.

At the end of the day, this tournament is great exposure for Mints and Cowen. Win or loss, good or bad performances aside, this tournament is a great stepping stone for both of them. Nothing to be ashamed about.

Mrazek was the difference between Fraser Minten and...Sam Rinzel or Lamoureux.

Dubas special.

Minten was good. Trusted in all situations.

I think Minten would have been a really good #2 or #3 on a strong team.

Just didn't have the roster and he's not ever going to be the "guy", imo.
