Not the appropriate thread but I expect Tavares to be in the short term 7 million dollar range. Kind of like Giroux. Cap is going up and he's still around a PPG player. Might he take a discount? Perhaps, but it's not going to be anywhere close to 3 million

Spezza was coming off 27 points in 76 games when he signed in Toronto.

While it remains to be seen, Tavares is still playing at a PPG level.

OHL really watered down this year?

I only see highlights, but he doesn't look like a late 1st. round pick.

So many of his points/goals appear to be him making the other players look like they're in a lower division.

I mean, if you look at Points Per Game, and played at least 10 games, he's 2nd. in the OHL.

OHL has been down for a few years. GTA hasn't been producing as much crazy talent recently (best player has been Jack Hughes, and he went to USNTDP). Doesn't mean what he's doing isn't impressive. But, even when the OHL was insanely strong in 2015-16, Marner was making other players look like they belonged in a lower division. That isn't to say I view Cowan as a comparable prospect to Marner, he isn't. But, he has all the tools to be a valuable 3rd wheel on a top line, and the potential to be much better than that.

Peksa is doing that bad against ECHL competition.. Injury to Jones maybe or Jones about to be dealt? Maybe they want to have him practice with better players and coaches to see if he heats up.
