How many 'days' does it take to get $500K IN NHL?

From my understanding it is 'days' on roster, not games played.

$1 million NHL. Net income on a $1 million NHL payment is like 550K after taxes.
KHL salaries are negotiated/reported as net income. Kinda why people falsely think its tax free.

But maybe the NHL signing bonus would cover it. I dunno.

Yeah, he'd be stuck with what, 93k with signing bonus factored in for the Marlies?

I wonder if we could do a loan back deal in the contract?

Sign the ELC, come to training camp, see where he's at, maybe spend a bit of time in the minors, if we get like 10-15 games in and he's not really there for a call up consideration, let him go back to Russia and then fully bring him over the following year?

Yes, very likely. Grebyonkin's agent is Dan Milstein who is reportedly close with the Leafs. He was Amirov's agent also.

He'd be paid less in the KHL if the Leafs loaned him back to Magnitogorsk, but the NHL signing bonus might make up for it.

That's another possibility, we're usually tight on cap space but if the situation allowed for it, we could recall him between games etc to beef up his take home pay.

Dont understand why they would do it tbh. Robertson's value is low atm and I dont think he's what will help Rangers unless they both need a change of scenery. I haven't seen much about Schneider so I can't tell.

Braden Schneider? That would be a great prospect/young project to swap Nicky Bobby for.

Rangers fans have been tough on him at times, fan base and management are 2 different stories.

They felt the need to add Ruehedel or whatever from Pittsburgh, another RD at the deadline for a 4th.

If either door opened in the slightest with Korczak or Schneider, I happily add a piece like Holmberg/Timmins or draft pick to get it across the finish line. It's about projection with both of them and what our prospect pool lacks, we have Niemela but different kind of defenseman, RD is empty after that.

I don't think New York wants to give up on him yet, but despite the praise he gets around here, Schneider has struggled as a #6D for basically his whole career so far.
It could be argued both would benefit from a change in scenery, especially if we're weirdly going to not use Robertson.
And both are due for new contracts this summer.

I wish we would just keep and play Robertson. His scoring ability and drive make him someone we should bet on. He’s got a chance at becoming a 30 goal scorer and if he falls short of that I think he’s still probably a solid depth scorer.

I think management has identified a need to keep Robertson around as there will be huge opportunities on the wing next season, where Tre will likely look to spend the cap on completely overhauling the defense and letting the "big 4" figure out the offense with support from ELCs and cheap depth.

Media will continue to drum up drama for clicks, because only the Leafs can bring along a prospect in his early 20s slowly after two development seasons ending in injury.. only the Leafs. Damn travesty they don't give this guy 1st line minutes, they need to trade him for nothing before his value becomes less than nothing.. /s

Blocked 11 shots last weekend in a pair of wins for the Terriers, the second most in the NCAA and more than double nearly other player in the country. The 11 blocks brought his season total to 118, setting a new all-time single season record in the NCAA.

Blocking shots is a talent! Seriously. It requires good timing and body speed. How many times have I tried to block a shot in my beer league and I ended up lying on the ice, like a doofus, having blocked nothing.

Hate to break it to you but Braden Schneider is terrible. The guy has legitimately gotten caved in his whole career so far as a #6 D.
Braden Schneider is all of 21-22 and not a finished product by a long stretch. If he was a stud defenseman he’d never be available in the first place.

Schneider has been rushed to some degree. He really should have had some AHL time. He's still learning, and his major partner this year has been Gustafsson, who needs defensive babysitting. As @Stephen suggests, he's just 22 years old. Lilly is 24, and just getting to the point that he's a regular NHLer... and normally it's 25 when you become really good at that position.

Schneider really should have had a partner like Giordano, or Brodie... a veteran D, who knows the D side of the game, who can mentor Schneider, on and off the ice.

It's also a mentality.
The willingness to put your body in harms way to do what's best for the team.
When the word "tough" gets brought up, many just instantly jump to things like "hitz" or "fights" but there's a big portion that involves how much physical damage you're willing to take to make certain plays like blocking a shot , taking a hit to clear the puck from the defensive zone or driving the puck right to the front of the net where you could get smoked.

I didn't really think much of this trade, and he might still be a bit of a long shot, But a 6'7", 216lb (According to the BC website) defensive D man, who plays bottom pairing and cost controlled, could be a great asset. It's probably going to take him a couple of years in the Marlies, if he hits. That gamble is well worth the 6th round pick.

People jump to "hitz" and "fights" because if they meant all that other stuff that the team already does, there wouldn't be a discussion about "toughness" in the first place.

This. And given the Leafs’ shallow D prospect pool, there is room for him in the system for opportunity

All time record. Kinda cool.

Maybe he flames out as an AHL’er or whatever, but there’s value in picks excelling at that level and extending a winning culture through an organization.

With very little information, it seems to me that he could have great value even if his all-D profile just helps other guys like Niemela or Villeneuve develop with more confidence.

I don’t think that’s his ceiling; I think his size reach and skating are appealing to this FO, and it’s a good gamble to develop. People point to Tom Wilson as an example of a very raw size/skating project who developed into something unexpected.

Will be an interesting story to follow.

I would assume Schneider has been brought up like Luke Schenn to some degree. NHL team capitalizing on his mature physical frame at an early age and somewhat careless about skills development and slow progression path. No idea how he’ll turn out but yeah. At 21-22, plenty to work with.

I think it’s just part of building out a well rounded development system with diverse player types and body types for different NHL jobs. Our previous manager often optimized for smaller skill bodies on D in the draft and developmental system. Yet we always needed that Colton Parayko. But never drafted one. Signed one. Traded for someone who could become one. So this is just part of the work that goes into it.
