Hildeby getting schooled by Kallgren 5-3 with game to play. 5g on 17 shots  His godlike status is eroding. Is this a Hildebeast thing or a Marlie thing because it sure came on fast?

Really he didn't do a lot. Same age as Tverberg and Niemela who are B prospects and a mile behind them. They come and go and he didn't light it up. I think next season the difference between him and these other two would have just gotten greater.
He’s a good bet to come back after some years in the KHL bigger and more experienced.
Speaking of which, SDA had a nice year. 34 pts in 53 games.

Probably both. He's been cooling down for sure in the 2nd half, especially lately. Compared to the other goaltenders, Hildeby is still miles better.

EDIT: And just like that, its 5-5

Marlies win 7-6 in the SO. Defence and Hildeby have carried this team at times, so I guess it's nice the offense won them a game today.
Nice. You gotta like it when they just keep coming and don't let up. Good night for Bellows too. Personal best numbers now. Is 25 too old to be a prospect again?

Creates the turnover on the forecheck and gets the assist right after.

Also didn't see this posted for the people hoping he would be on his way ASAP.

He seems to be hitting his stride now. If he stays in the khl one more year, I suspect you will see him putting up close to a point a game next year.

He probably wants to solidify himself as a top khl player and then jump straight into the Leafs top 9.

Seeing how these kids are doing and seeing what Carolina was able to do getting Guentzel. I hope we can stack our farm like they have down the road. Keep the picks, draft. People said yesterday ohh why didn’t we get this guy? Because we don’t have any 2nd and 3rd rounders. Carolina didn’t even have to touch their top prospects because they were able to draft a ton of talent.

Whatever happens from today until 2026 it is what it is. But 2026 onwards I really hope we get back to drafting more and getting more young talent into the system

Kallgren gets school by Hideby ... in the shootout. ;)

He's younger than McMann.

Something in the water at the Marlies water fountain maybe? I think somebody gives him a shot next year.

Not everyone matures at the same rate.

Or Bellows is a good AHL player, but not a good NHL player.

There is no shame in that at all, probably 99% of all who have laced them up would take that and be thrilled.

Now that we still have our first rounder.

28. Jett Luchanko, RW, Guelph Storm (OHL)

The Guelph Storm centreman has quickly become one of my favourite players in this draft as he continues to raise his stock as the season progresses. He currently leads the team in scoring with 63 points and plays a strong two-way game. Much like Easton Cowan moving into the first-round last year, Luchanko plays at a fast pace, with great speed and agility being a factor on both sides of the puck. He displays strong IQ with and without the puck as well as a highly competitive nature, not shying away from tough battles in the dirty areas. He’s quick on his feet with strong edges and cuts to the open ice.
