Noah Chadwick with 2 goals and an assist earlier today.
No.I know it's crazy early, but if there was a re-draft of the 2023 class where would Cowan go?
Top 10?

I was looking at the OHL PPG, and this stuck out for me.... he'll likely go well before our pick, if we still have it, but offensively he looks like he'll be good.Perhaps in top 5 CHL.
Still highest PPG in the OHL.
Only 2 CHL players made the NHL from his draft, Bedard and Benson.
One SweHL player
One NCAA player
No. 7: Zayne Parekh, D, Saginaw Spirit (OHL)I was looking at the OHL PPG, and this stuck out for me.... he'll likely go well before our pick, if we still have it, but offensively he looks like he'll be good.
Grebyonkin finishes with 19 goals and 22 assists in 67 games. He and his team will face his former team in the first round. Thats a cool mini story to start the playoffs.
He's been followed so much, it's interesting he's only 20.
So what do we wish, long playoffs, or short playoffs and a signing?
Would he not have to be signed before the Trade Deadline, to be eligible to play for the playoffs? Mettalurg is tops of their division, they are playing the last place team in the first round, so it would be quite the upset if they lost.
Ideally he plays really well, they lose, and then he comes over and makes an impact right away... but chances are we have to wait a year.
Yes we should be looking for who might be there for Calgary's 2nd. Cole Beaudouin or Colton Roberts maybe.I was looking at the OHL PPG, and this stuck out for me.... he'll likely go well before our pick, if we still have it, but offensively he looks like he'll be good.

Right now the Leafs have 9 picks.
1st., 3rd., 4th, 5th., 5th., 5th., 6th., 7th., 7th.
Chadwick - 6th.
Hildeby - 4th.
Grebenkin - 5th.
Tverberg - 7th.
Niemela - 3rd.
Holmberg - 6th.
I watched some of his games and tbh he is great offensively but I feel like he floats quite a bit too. I know defense can be taught but with him, I'm a bit skeptical.No. 7: Zayne Parekh, D, Saginaw Spirit (OHL)
Height: 6-feet Weight: 181 pounds

Unless he pulls a Liljegren and falls, but I think it is too late for that.

No, he wouldn't have to go through waivers, but everything I read supported the thought that he needs to be signed before the trade deadline to play in the playoffs. From something I just read, if the player is UFA he has to go through waivers.
I left the page so don't have the link.
Grebenkin is not UFA, he is a drafted Leafs prospect.
A few guys I'd look into for ELCs and AHL contracts:
Forwards
*Note I don't watch much Western Hockey, so I may be missing out on some guys.
- TJ Hughes: ELC territory, he's been one of Michigan's most dangerous players the past two years. He's got a wicked shot, has versatility as he plays both center and the wing. He's good on the forecheck.
- Marcus Sylvegard: A type of guy who could challenge for a roster spot. A nice mix of skill and willingness to play on the edge. A really speed skater, with a wicked shot. He had continued to build on his breakout year. Also, has that Pontus Holmberg connection.
- Gabriel Seger: I've been saying this guy for a few times now, but I just think he would add a different element to the pool. He's a 6'4 225 pound forward who has a sizeable frame, good on the faceoff dot and plays a 200ft game. Skates well for his size and is a smart player. He's been by far Cornell's best player, and would be a good project to groom into a 4c. I'd say offer AHL contract but I'm not opposed to ELC.
- Ruslan Gazizov: I watch a ton of London Knights hockey games, and he has just brilliant vision. His edge work is great which allows him to get away from defenders, and he has good hands in tight. While I'm not sure, he makes it to the big leagues, he's still worth an opportunity on an AHL deal. He's an import and I think for him it's the A or back to Russia as imports rarely stay for their OA season.
- Deni Goure: One of the most productive players in the OHL this year, hard worker, quick on his feet, and can find teammates in open space. Great skater that stands out when I watch him play. He's an AHL deal type of guy.
Defenceman
I'll add, Andre Anania from Sudbury can absolutely dish the body, and has had some nice progression, also not a bad AHL contract option.
- Samuel Mayer: Big two-way defender, who's got a very well-rounded skillset. He's a guy who leverages his reach and mobility to be solid in his own end. Offensively, he's got great vision, and can effectively QB a power play. I think he's in that grey area between ELC and AHL deal but I'd lean more to an AHL deal.
- Ryan Siedem: Fluid skating defensemen, who's reliable on both ends of the ice. He's got size and speed that helps him on both ends of the ice. He's a very intelligent player. This is an AHL contract type of guy.
Spencer Sova was invited to two camps, and has been on our radar for a while. There's a defenseman, name of which I forget, that apparently the Leafs have been scouting heavily from the OHL.
