Zero chance he loses the C .. Chipman and chevy won’t allow it
So they'd rather watch their room deteriorate and team fail then do what's right? Seems logical to me.

I'm not sure how we could possibly bring Bpake back as the C. He's looking more and more like an absolute shit leader.

Some people believe that the Jets and TNSE are loyal to Wheeler and Scheifele above anything else, whether that's winning, or money, or the future of the franchise in Winnipeg. It's an over reaction.
Agree, absolutely It is, but there is some precedent for org loyalty seemingly getting in the way of logic -- or, at least, loyalty colouring what should be objective assessment here when it comes to players and perhaps coaching. Some people believe that the Jets and TNSE are loyal to Wheeler and Scheifele above anything else, whether that's winning, or money, or the future of the franchise in Winnipeg. Maybe Mr. Chipman and company have been gally-waggled (blinded pre flogging back in the sea days of the Bounty,, and the like)Agree, absolutely It is, but there is some precedent for org loyalty seemingly getting in the way of logic -- or, at least, loyalty colouring what should be objective assessment here when it comes to players and perhaps coaching.
I'd point to the longform interview Murat did with Chipman a while back as an example of where a love for Maurice the person seems to have been conflated with a cold-light-of-day analysis of Maurice the coach.
And how long have we heard about the great, tight, inclusive locker room, only to hear in ever-increasing detail about the hierarchical, uncomfortable, divided locker room?
Maybe things are different down at TNSE HQ?
Considering Nolan lived with Hayes I’d say it’s pretty solid.“What’s his face said it was the worst room ever. What was his name again “?
Solid.
I’m sure it is to some extent, but still second hand news as far as James Patrick is concerned. Regardless, my point was his credibility would have been helped by being able to remember Hayes’s name.Considering Nolan lived with Hayes I’d say it’s pretty solid.

Chris Stewart, Kevin Hayes building bonds with Nolan Patrick through support
Chris Stewart is 32 years old and worked his butt off to return to the NHL after a yearlong hiatus in which he played 23 games for the EIHL’s Nottingham Panthers. He does not take wearing an NHL jersey for granted. “It’s the National Hockey League, it’s a blessing to be here, it’s a privilege...www.nbcsports.com
After signing a seven-year, $50 million contract in June, Hayes has settled in with his new team and surroundings, also becoming one of the Flyers’ alternate captains.
He has built a bond with Patrick away from the ice as the two live together.
“He’s a great kid, a young guy,” Hayes said last week. “I bought a place here that’s pretty big to live by myself and invited him in. He’s been great. He’s a professional, he handles himself the right way. He’s been traveling a lot with seeing some doctors and stuff, but we pretty much see each other every day.
“We’re pretty tight. It’s not easy being a new guy here on the team and living with him makes it a lot easier. I feel super comfortable now with where I’m at, but earlier in the season, it was a little different. We spend a lot of time together, he’s a great kid. We’ve had different type of upbringings but we’ve definitely become pretty close this year.”
You seem pretty dead set on your opinion despite a lot of smoke coming from a lot of people inside and outside that locker room.I’m sure it is to some extent, but still second hand news as far as James Patrick is concerned. Regardless, my point was his credibility would have been helped by being able to remember Hayes’s name.
And we’re still talking about a guy who was here for 3 months.
Locker room issues? Obviously. Worst in the league or as bad as many make them out to be? Debatable.
Dead set on what opinion? You seem pretty dead set on your opinion despite a lot of smoke coming from a lot of people inside and outside that locker room.
Yeah, I found it interesting that Patrick couldn't conjure the name of the guy that lived with him lol.I’m sure it is to some extent, but still second hand news as far as James Patrick is concerned. I also found it funny when he said “Scheifele and who’s their other star there?”Yeah, I found it interesting that Patrick couldn't conjure the name of the guy that lived with him lol.

And then the other guys told him it was Wheeler and he was like “oh yeah, Wheeler.”
Man, you’re coaching hockey in Winnipeg (and are from Winnipeg) and you haven’t even happened upon the fact that Wheeler is captain of our NHL team. I’m sure there are many people who don’t follow hockey at all who live in Winnipeg who know that Wheeler is captain just because of the reach of hockey in this market.
Yeah I found his obliviousness to wheleer a bit premeditated, just imo. One of the guys should have said Connor when asked who is the other starIt was Nolan Patrick, not James that lived with Hayes.
Pretending to forget the name of someone notable is a common dissing technique. It's also possible this little gabfest was preceded by a few wobbly pops and his memory (and good judgment) was impaired. Shit, after a few beers at the bar I often forget that I'm married.![]()
If folks want to trade him for barzal. Might want to rethink a Trotz hire possibly.
Yeah, that was one of my first thoughts once the Trotz news was announced. Barzal was who I was hoping the Jets would take a look at in a swap for 55.
If you could have either Trotz coach the team or Barzal in a trade for Scheifele, which would you choose?
If we bring in Barry then I see them letting him talk to and work with Mark for atleast next year to see if they can get him back on track.

I'm sort of torn. In the past I was ok with the idea of a new coach coming in and giving them a chance to get Scheifele's game back on track. But that was before when the main thing I was worried about MS was his defensive game.If we bring in Barry then I see them letting him talk to and work with Mark for atleast next year to see if they can get him back on track.
But I also think if we got Barzal and Trotz things would be different here as I don't believe there would be anywhere near the same offensive restrictions placed on him with how our roster is configured.
IMO go with the high calibre player, that is IF we had to trade scheifele.Yeah, that was one of my first thoughts once the Trotz news was announced. Barzal was who I was hoping the Jets would take a look at in a swap for 55.

how long does it take to fix a broken room? is it reasonable for new coach/trotz to fix it within in a few months?I'm sort of torn. But that was before when the main thing I was worried about MS was his defensive game.
If there really is more surrounding MS and the whole room divide thing, I wonder if moving MS regardless of being able to bring in Trotz would be the way to go? Fixing the Jets systems and getting them all to play more sound defensive hockey is one thing, but is it realistic to ask Trotz (or any new coach) to try to fix that, and at the same time somehow try to mend a divided locker room that could now be divided for multiple seasons?
Honestly I'm not sure. More thinking out loud here.
All good questions for sure. I guess for a situation like this we'd really need to know more about the severity of the situation and the ability to get it mended.how long does it take to fix a broken room? is it reasonable for new coach/trotz to fix it within in a few months?
look at the wild for instance and what's come out about ryan suter recently and how they turned around. is it 1, albeit painful, transaction to fix?
we've been apparently broken for a few years now, i am going to assume chevy or maurice and co. have done things to help mend it (i hope so at least, if not then some1 should have been putting the heat on them).
i think you give scheifele the opportunity under a new regime..... if he still doesn't care about 2/3's of the ice & is still a locker-room problem, then trade him at the 2023 TDL when teams have more cap flexibility.
I'm not torn at all - but like you, I was. until recentlyI'm sort of torn. In the past I was ok with the idea of a new coach coming in and giving them a chance to get Scheifele's game back on track. But that was before when the main thing I was worried about MS was his defensive game.

Problem is, Scheif already thinks he "on board" - playing the best hockey of his careerIt appears NYI chose Barzal over Trotz. I guess it is easier to toss the coach than trade your top player.
IF the jets can hire Trotz I think the organization is choosing him over Scheifele. Scheifele either is on board or out.
