Not to mention, he is a left-hand shot.
that's not a selling point on having him as a LW actually.

I'd like to think it's the case that the Kings have better doctors and trainers than the rest of the teams Gabby has played for, but I think they're all pretty top quality. Plus I remember his groin issue back in 08 or something where he had a team of specialists all over the country working on him and through his surgery.
Gabby's problems are one of two things:
1) he doesn't work hard in the off-season.
2) he's legitimately more prone to injury.
I tend to think its the latter and there is nothing training staffs can do to totally alleviate that.
At least we don't have to worry about his annual start of season groin pull.
If he can produce at even a 20 goal clip, I'm pleased.
And there may be another move in the works. Maybe a depth move.
Youd be happy with four goals for the rest of the season and 5-6 more for a complete Stanley cup run?

So do we get glass Gabby or the explosive Gabby?
What was Frattin doing for us?
And in any event that's my minimum expectations for the guy.
Carter had 6 and 8.
The only downside to the deal is if Gaborik gets hurt. If he gets hurt, then you have the same lineup that the Kings had yesterday since Frattin wasn't much of a factor unfortunately.
I really see no downside to this trade. So It's a good experiment to take. Also, doesn't the cap go up next year? What are the chances of keeping gabby, assuming he's healthy and perhaps takes a glass paycut?
Frattin just interviewed on NHL Network; seemed he was in shock.
I get what you're saying, but there should still be some semi-reasonable expectations. Really, a good barometer of whether or not this was a good trade is if the gpg for the team edges up. If we average half a gpg more over the remaining games, that's probably 12 points in some fashion from Gaborik.
To me, that's the ultimate success measure here.
Yeah, shocked he might actually get to play now.
Any idea what number Gaborik wears??
