All things considered, not bad by DL. Low risk, high reward. DL's MO. I think I'd rather have Gaborik at the price the Kings paid than paying anything close to what St. Louis got. Sather is an idiot. Gaborik isn't the same player he used to be, but there's a possibility he gets rejuvenated coming to LA. The 50% retained by CBJ makes it a reasonable risk.

The chance of Gaborik getting hurt is 95%. He has not been healthy for years. The Kings just need him to be 80% for the next 40 games or so. Then you do not resign him because that would be a huge mistake.

Played all the games available to him in 2011-12 and 2012-13. Since signing with NYR he has 75 games (well 47 of 47 in 2012-13) in 3 of 4, with 62 games in the other one. Then this year has been injured.

Your making assumptions. Also looked into it, let's just say it was an experiment that did not last very long at all. There's a reason for that, contributed a lot to his worst season ever.

It'll be interesting to see what Sutter does. Personally I'd probably go Williams on LW with Kopitar and Gaborik.
