That's not next season and the cap is still expected to rise a few mil each year, so combine his 9 with a conservative 3 mil cap rise and it will be a non issue
It's a decent amount of flexibility but it's not "bring in a big fish" money. Unless they do trade Rossi for said big fish, which is pretty unlikely.
Way I see it, if the cap goes up to 92M, they've got about 17M available.
5M goes to Rossi
2.5M goes to Khusnutdinov and Lauko
~4.5M (with bonuses) goes to Yurov, Buium and Ohgren
Leaves them with about 5M to bring in another defenseman and/or upgrade at forward.
This is the same GM that gave Trenin 3.5M last offseason...5M doesn't go that far with him.
