Worst player to suit up for any playoff team this year.

Has no business wearing a Rangers sweater anymore and should be in a suit for the rest of this team's games this season and should receive his gold watch and be sent on his way after the season is over.

I agree 100%. Shame that Klein regressed so badly this year because he would have been a decent reason to sit Staal.

Klein nor Clendening could not possibly be ANY worse than Staal and even if that is the case, I'd rather Vigneault actually hold his stupid ass accountable for the garbage efforts he gives this team.

I'm tired of watching this guy constantly **** up and not have to answer for it.

And now the hockey genius that is Joe Benngo wants Stasl in the lineup because of his experience...worked well so far.

He was such a defensive stud years ago before the injuries and before the NHL moved to a quicker game.

Now he doesn't take the body, gets beaten regularly physically by smaller guys, and is a black hole with the puck (always a black hole offensively). It only makes sense for the opposition to dump it in his direction. He can't move the puck once he has it. We have to find a way to get rid of him next season.

Game on the line and the other team ties it up. Who's on the ice every time? Staal. Turn over machine that can't move the puck at all. Sorry but his time is up.

Part of me wonders just how much he wants to do this anymore.

I don't blame him, but if thats the case he needs to get out now.

I wonder the same. He doesn't even look like he wants to play anymore. Slow and lumbering, ineffective, loses his balance constantly.

Just retire. You made your money. He's lucky he has a coach who loves his play because any other coach would have relegated him to the press box all year

Crazy to thing what could have been if he didn't have the eye injury and then the concussion(s).

He was going to be a stud. Better yet, he was a stud. Just imagine him and a prime McD.

The worst part is the management of the team not seeing what the post injury Staal brought and chose to commit to Staal instead of Stralman.

Their choice of anyone over Stralman was their downfall. Terrible decision that set off a chain reaction.

Pull a Naslund, Marc. Be a hero. Come on. You have to know you don't have it anymore. Set yourself up for any job you want in the organization.

Never seen a defenseman deteriorate like he has. Occasionally makes a nice poke check and threw a few nice hits in the montreal series. everything else has gone down the crapper.

Naslund walked away from what $4m? Staal still has $21.2m remaining on his contract. As nice as it is to think he'd just walk away from that, I really can't see why he would, regardless of what the organisation could offer him in the future
