Also was the other guy he played with Delzaster? Mint, your worship of advanced stats is almost as bad as people that want to ignore them completely. There are so many factors that just looking at splits is meaningless without context. I think MDZ was the other guy Staal played with this season at spurts.

I think it's just wrong to try to compare Staal's games with and without Stralman. If you've played the most part of the last seasons with one player, then of course you'll play worse when you play with someone else for just a couple of games. I think Staal and Stralman are playing great together and complement each other well. However, if I had to choose one of them I'd go with Stralman. Sure he's not as strong as Staal and isn't as good in the own end. But Stralman is very underrated. He's play doesn't show much during the games, but he doesn't make many mistaces at all and he's way better then Staal with the puck. Staal doesn't deliver many passes tape-to-tape at all. Most often he sends the puck by the glass and it often ends up in the hands of the oponent. He could also make some d-to-d passes, to keep the puck within the team instead of using the glass. Stralman on the other hand, makes a lot of long tape-to-tape passes up to the neutral zone, giving the Rangers a chanse to score.

But, once again, why compare them at all, they are two different typa of players. They're both great and together they're even better. I believe they've played better then Girardi and Mcdonagh in the playoffs.

Had another beast game today.

Also, LOL @ the implication that Stralman is better than Staal. Just ****ing LOL.

Staal has been participating in the offense all series, on top of pushing some big Flyers bodies around. Today, he did a great job by just doing the simple and correct thing shooting the puck accurately and he got a huge goal from it. That goal came when it was sorely needed.

Sickening. First Klein sucks, now Staal's success is because of Stralman. Concussions & vison damage are no match for Marc Staal!

I actually saw a staggering stat about Klein in goals against per 20 minutes of ice time he was second worst on the team and considering that he plays on the 3rd pairing against the worst opposition and his partner who at one point played with Del Zotto and who is supposedly terrible was best on the team, I think it's pretty fair to say Klein sucks. I'd still rather see that pairing than DZ-Moore though. DZ was THAT bad.

Klein doesnt suck...I think Moore has been mediocre to terrible. Kleins been fine.

our 6 D have been so good that everyone seems to find the need to nitpick every little thing about them.

You think everyone sucks. You ever say anything nice about anyone?

I've been saying nice things about the team most of the season and have been arguing that the team has more than a fighter's chance to win a cup for a while now. I think we have a top 3 defense in the league and we have 3 of the top shutdown D-men in the league. I just don't like Klein and there are numbers, not even obscure possession numbers that back me up. But don't let the pesky facts get in the way of a good rant.

Klein is a very steady player. He's very good for what he is asked to do AND how much he is paid.

Unreal that people can't respect what someone brings to a team. He's not paid to score.

I really question sometimes how some of you can watch so much hockey and still be so clueless. The things that are said about Boyle and now Klein, among others are laughable. If a player isn't lighting it up like Crosby he's all but worthless.

Quick fact for all you novices out there. Some players have roles on teams in which scoring isn't their first priority. If they score, it's, shockingly, a "bonus." Mind blown.

I mentioned his scoring for the first time in the post above you that was posted after you hit "submit". His issue is not his offense.

I'm not a believer in advanced stats for the sport of hockey. I've seen enough hockey to comprehend what a player brings and how good he is at it. Leave the advanced stats and corsi to baseball. A sport where that **** matters.

Honestly, I think a lot of you are way too hard on Snowblind. It's not like he's an arrogant *******, even if his Lundqvist rants can get out of hand. Most of the time, he's a pretty nice guy, and he definitely does not think everyone sucks.

You do realize Klein was not on the third pairing in Nashville, right?

You know what, I will admit that I didn't even think that that might include his games with Nashville I thought it was all with the Rangers, that would explain it. If it does include his Nashville, I look a bit stupid. But I still never said anything about his offense at the point of when you made that post. I did mention his offense at some point only to say that it doesn't override his defense. That said, I think advanced stats in hockey are followed like the bible sometimes, but the guy being consistently a negative possession player is not a good thing.

I like him too, but often times he is a sensationalist who gets far to caught up in his emotions. Today it's about Klein, Friday it was about AV. It's usually about Lundqvist.

It's important to think before you speak/post/express opinions. It's more important to make sure you are in the right state of mind.

I mean hating on Klein today based on a single advanced statistic is lunacy.

Saying AV does nothing on Friday because we can't come back in the 3rd period, even though we basically outplayed Philly all game, lunacy.

I do like Snowblind and even find his rants often times amusing. Plus, I think we can all identify with his overreactions, as, we are all to some extent, obsessive Rangers fans.

That being said, it sometimes is infuriating and certainly open to debate.

I was referring to what other people say about his offense. It was lumped in to my response to your quote. I wasn't specifically referring to you.

I'm a pretty nice guy? What the **** are you talking about *******? :p:

But anyway, thanks. I usually complain right after bad losses, but I've been defending the team most of the season from the people that find every little negative thing about them. This is my favorite team post-lockout, which means they're my favorite team ever since I started watching in 2000.

I never called him arrogant. I just think a lot of posters are too emotional and negative and it's hard to enjoy reading the forums when it's full of that kind of crap.

That wasn't really an advanced stat though, I didn't realize that it probably included his time with Nashville. The gap between him and Moore was way too staggering. But most advanced stats say that he's a bad possession player and I haven't liked the way he's been playing, especially on the PK lately.

I agree that a lot of people get way too emotional, but some people do use this forum as a venting area, and there's really nothing wrong with that. Rather people make dumb, reactionary posts than take it out on the dog, you know what I mean?

Except most of the season I've been arguing with people that this team isn't 100% 2nd round fodder and are pretty good. You obviously didn't read the "how good are the 13-14 Rangers" thread or the thread I started about the defense this season that turned into more of that crap where people made the Rangers seem like a mediocre also ran.

I hear what you're saying, and not that I want anyone to take it out on the dog, but I don't really want to read whiney, immature posts all the time. So, sure, vent. But don't say stupid things. lol
