It is disheartening that this game is emblematic of playoff losses of years past. Goaltending failing us, getting physically dominated, stars absent from the scoresheet, it's all there and is too reminiscent of the Bruins, Blue Jackets, and Canadiens series.

They play physical. They shut down a lot of shooting lanes with their size. They rely on Markstrom, who is really consistent. They're opportunistic off the counter attack. Their D-men come down off the blue line regularly and they got point shots to the net.

That's their game.

I didn't like our game against Carolina and the trend is continuing. Don't think we deserved to win that one and I don't think it'll happen tonight. Hard nosed teams that come at us with playoff style hockey expose us... which obviously doesn't bode well for playoffs. we look listless in these games, like we're waiting for someone else to do something about the big bad bullies on the other side. No emotion, and only Matthews, Marner and Kerfoot look dangerous. We need MUCH more from our 2nd defensive pair and the Tavares line.
