Was he the one that didn’t want to move down in the draft in the draft video?

Interesting - left for a lateral. Likely highly pay.

Yeah, seems like kind of a lateral move, but I get it because he's from way out east and bros with Treliving.

Our pro scouting has been good for 18 months under these guys - outside of the decision to bring Boeser back at that stupid contract.

No plans to replace is semi-interesting?

wonder if one the sedins takes clancey's chair
my guess would be RJ

oh yeah forgot about him - that's a good guess.

although, wonder if RJ would leave his abby job for this? he's just assistant to the gm and obviously AGM would be a big bump, but he's hired by the canucks (ie. paid well) and is probably being groomed for a generalist GM role as effectively as a function specific job like AGM, player development would provide.

it might also be easier to just promote/give salary bumps to guys like higgins (assistant director of player development) and/or scott young (director of player development) and not add another AGM. because pretty sure clancey was player development and granato is pro scouting, no?

I guess Scott Young is the leading candidate.

makes sense. after looking at the hockey ops and scouting staff, yeah, seems like the sedins probably report to young and/or higgins, along with komisarek and samuelsson. so young would be the top of that group, formerly reporting to clancey, now probably reporting to allvin directly.

here's another thought; isn't hayley wickenheiser in charge of player development for the leafs? wonder if she's landing a promotion somewhere else (ie. the GM job in Pittsburgh)...

Wickenheiser is in charge of player development, Clancey will be in charge of player personnel. I'm sure there'll be some overlap within those roles.
