I think the WCF going 7 is a factor a lot of people are overlooking.

By the time the Cup Final will start, the Rangers will be on 5 days rest, the Kings or Blackhawks on 2 days rest, and would have played 3 long series. Fatigue WILL play a factor at some point, especially if the series goes long.

I totally agree and I was elated when the Hawks won for this very reason. Two days off after a an emotional and taxing 7 game series, compared to 5 days off... love it!

I'm not overly surprised people think we'll lose. We don't have those standout playoff point leading stars that are easy for other fan bases to recognize. Montreal kind of went through the same, despite the fact that they eliminated a team who recently won a Cup and had the best record in the league this season.

I suppose it's easy to watch the offense in the WCF right now and be impressed with it and think maybe we can't shut it down or whatever (even if to me the goaltending and team D looks horrible for both west teams right now). Of the remaining teams, however, I believe we have the best 5v5 goal differential, we have by far the lowest GAPG, and our goalie is playing circles around the two west goalies.

Defense and depth may not be as sexy, and I can understand why people feel as they do. I'll also understand when they change their tune after the NYR bring the Cup back east :)

That doesn't have to be negative. They'll have the tempo in them while Rangers could be a bit off the track after the long rest. And its the ****ing SCF, I think the players will be so pumped up they'll hardly be tired.

Rangers had more ROWs in the regular season than either team. Sensing some overconfidence.

Seriously, I agree. I was just talking about that with my friend yesterday.

I can understand being the underdog, but these Kings in and 4 Hawks in 5 predictions are ludicrous.

Turn the hockey world on its head boys! LGR!

Hard work and determination. I think this team will want it more than defending champs and a recent champ. Gonna be tough but doable

LA lost last night? Surely that's a mistake on NHL.com...the Kings are unbeatable, I've heard, so there's no way that's right. Right?

Can you imagine if ****ing CHI pulled off the W in game 7?

Kings fans were so cocky a couple of days ago and now Patty Kane is styling all over them. It's beautiful to see.

The mainboard is filled with children and idiots. They will choke on crow soon.

Also Devils fans are hoping the Rangers can't beat the Kings because they got trounced by them in 2012. It would make things so much more unbearable for them.

Bruins season ticket holder over 30 years played a lot of hockey as did many of my friends and maybe we are clueless but after last night I think the Rangers are winning the Cup.

They have do much going for them beyond the belief they can and will win- elite goalie, pretty strong defense, good to very good down the middle, speed and size on the wing. Vingault is calm and a very good coach. That heavy weight fight in the West has to take some toll.

The Rangers have always been like able and are the only NY team I don't hate plus they have Kreider who is nearby and the kids all know him and like him his parents are great people. And although dont know Boyle personally I work with folks who went to HS with his parents- athletes and high school sweethearts- and have a friend who played 3 or 4 years with Boyle at BC and can't say enough good things about him.

The Rangers-Habs game apparently out drew the Red Sox on NESN which is mind numbing and shows you how much Boston probably hates Montreal- but my travels its easy many Bruins fans want the Rangers to win it all

For me personally after the Bruins went out this was a nice fall back to feel like I have a dog in the fight- especially since I heard based on up bringing Kreider for some reason was not a big Canadiens fan.

Like your chances a lot!!!

Pens fan here (thanks for getting rid of Shero and hopefully Bylsma). The Rangers made a believer out of me in the Montreal series. I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a team play with such consistency game to game, shift to shift. The Ranger forecheck is so impressive. I think it'll be a 50/50 finals. Hoping they can shutup those smug Western fans.

Just watching the Hawks and Kings last night. There's a bit of 'I don't want it--you can have it--no, no you take it' in this series.

To review Blackhawks easily won the first game in Chicago and were rolling in the second until towards the end of the 2nd period LA scored and then the wheels fell off the Chicago bus. For the next two games in LA the Hawks were still ****ing around looking for replacement wheels and LA just looked unstoppable--just cruising down the highway. And then it goes back to Chicago and the Hawks squeeze out a double OT win to live for another couple days anyway but I think most people expected the Kings to finish them off last night in their own rink. But lo and behold the Blackhawks go into the third with a one goal lead--throw it away and here are the Kings with less than ten minutes left with a one goal lead giving up the tying goal and then the game winner. And in all of this mess of a series (including last night) both Crawford and Quick have looked very ordinary at times.

Not saying these teams aren't really, really good but they're not without flaws. I was glad by the way that the Hawks won. Better the series goes 7--hopefully they play 22 overtime periods to decide the winner.

The biggest issue is that we're going to have to do a better job finishing chances than we've done all year. It would help greatly if Nash could pot a few. If we face the Kings, our powerplay is going to have to get hot. They don't give up much five on five. If we face the Hawks, I believe we'll get more scoring chances overall.

I'm hoping game 7 OT concludes somewhere around 12 noon on Weds.

If we win it all I can guarantee that within 5 minutes the main board would have a thread titled "Weakest Cup Team" with a poll and everything and we'd be leading in votes.

Literally wouldn't care at all.

Considering both Boyle and Kreider are from the Massachusetts, I bet they probably both hate the Habs.

Guys, don't ya know, according the the main board we're losing in 3, yes I said 3. By the end of the third game the Rangers are going to be so devastated and out matched that they're gonna just forfeit Game 4.:sarcasm:

That's an awful lot of hockey to play though. 3 long, emotional, physical series, plus 2 days rest? Adrenaline will only take you so far.

Fatigue played a big part in our downfall a few years ago.

Same.

Why should I care what losers think of my team. I have nothing to prove to anyone, and if the Rangers win the cup they have nothing more to prove to anyone.

Come wednesday only two teams will be playing hockey. One of them is the Rangers.

Exactly and in professional sports, especially the NHL making it to the Finals is a huge accomplishment in and of itself. It's not like we played club teams or AAA Midgets, we beat legit talent. Not many people watched our series but our road to the finals has been a tougher fight than most would have been.

The last game he was .969. That is sort of my point. A 5'11" rookie goalie had a .969 against NYR. They are going to have to do better.

to be fair, that was the best game MTL played defensively all playoffs.... I don't think I've ever seen them collapse around the net like they did that game. it was damn near impossible for them to get into the net area, much less get a top cheese shot off

Sorry to say we aren't going to make it that far. Still predicting Kings in 2.

Brass did on that breakaway opportunity... Tokarski just made an amazing save.

and you saw how one of a kind that opportunity was as well... THat literally only happened because MTL went for an untimely shift...

BUT, the point still stands that the only reason why MTL could not get any offense going was because theior defense was overworked. THe Forward corps played so much defense that when it came time to score goals, they were screwed
