Majority of Board Thinks We'll Get Crushed in SCF

Just like they thought the Pens would beat us and the Habs speed would be too much for us. What else is new?

It's pretty sad there is that much hate from people. If this were a team like the Maple Leafs I would see it as a good story because of the drought they've had.

I don't care if they are happy for us. But it amuses me that they are wasting precious time suffering over it. When we are eliminated I'm upset for a few days and then get on with my summer...Life is short. Apparently being angry is more important for some people.

my opinion, is that with the Hawks fans, they've sucked and tanked for so long to get where they are, they are terrified at facing a team like the NYR who are notorious for doing the polar opposite. Two different philosophies at building and winning...

What they don't realize (or choosing to ignore) that outside of the recent acquisition of MSL for the first rounders, we've built out current lineup mostly from the group up, with homegrown/drafted talent. maybe not first overall quality like Toews/Kane, but still our own...

they won't give us credit for developing a hybrid strategy for winning the cup, because they've been garbage for 10 yrs to get where they are now.

Teams like the Isles, Oilers and Was, are brutal reminder that they also are enjoying some "luck"... it doesn't always work out...

He has 3 more points than McDonagh these playoffs. 3.

And McDonagh outscored him in the regular season.

I'd rather have efficiency than pretty points. I don't know everyone else.
 
I have no problem with the Hawk fans, they have a VERY successful team. They're allowed to be a bit arrogant. It's the Kings fans that bug... Mostly because we've been dealing with them since the whole Hank vs Quick debate started, now it's McDonagh vs Doughty, defense vs defense. It's always a comparison never a discussion with them.
 
The folks complaining about this, would be the first ones to say the same thing had Montreal won the series.

As for my personal opinion, who gives a ****? The Rangers are where they wish they were.
 
The Rangers defense group is better defensively than either of the Kings or Blackhawks IMO--we don't have quite the offensive talent of both of those groups though. Our group is fairly deep though. Even our third pair is good and Diaz as a spare is very passable at least within our own group.

The Rangers are built around the goal and the defense. That's the foundation of the team and it is a very strong foundation. We don't have top end talent but that's what our defense is built to negate. It's not like we haven't faced some fine offensive talent in the playoffs. Crosby, Malkin, Giroux, Subban--the only one of those who really caused us much problem was Malkin but it wasn't enough to stop us from beating his Penguins.

This is a fallacy, mainly propagated by the media. The notion that geography has any impact on talent and success is a joke. What, are the Redwings, a historical powerhouse, all of a sudden garbage because they're in the "Leastern Conference"? It's probably because their lame ***** can't keep up with the travel!
 
What other fans don't realize is just how bad Torts screwed up the offense and individual players. He never kept lines together so the team never had lines develop chemistry. The team now has 4 lines with chemistry, a talented defenseman core and an all world goalie. The team should be better next year than this year because J.T. Miller should break out next year, J. Moore, Zuccarello, Kreider, Brassard and Stepan will all be better next year. I think Brassard and Stepan will take their game to another level next year.

It's hard for other fans to see how good the Rangers are because they remember the Torts team with no chemistry, lame speed that couldn't score. This is no longer the same team.
 
Why does everyone [pundits] keep talking about how incredible the level of hockey is in the Kings-Hawks series? I don't get how a series can have such a "high level" when both goalies SV% is in the .880s... clearly there is something lacking.

High scoring east games = defense and goaltending suck
High scoring west games = what skill!
