He doesn't have a contract in the KHL beyond this year, so he is available to come over.
He's not going to though... it's just for Carolina to send back consideration in their part of the trade I'd think... he's not even really AHL material.

If we trade Timmins, trade/demote Jones, Gregor, demote Lagesson, and bring back Jarnkrok, we have $2.8 mil in cap space to work with.

You feel this prevents them from making any other moves? They need a guy to play Saturday
No, where did you read that? I think a 3rd for Boosh is a shitty trade because Boosh sucked last time around in the playoffs. I would have rather played Rifai.

Hainsey had a resurgence with Rielly

Schenn was great with rielly and got a 2.8M contract after that

Hunwick was a 6/7D

Robidas played I think a little with rielly when Rielly was a rookie

Brodie and Rielly have been good for 2.5 of the 4 years they played together

Gleason played in either 2014 or 2015 when Rielly was rookie/second year during Kessel era and he was soon out the NHL

Brodie has been the only top 4D Rielly plays with and they have been good for the most part.

Slavin has had Pesce in his prime or Hamilton

Pietrangelo had a Parayako or Boumeester

Hanafin has Andersson or Weegar at the moment

Q. Hughes has Hronek

Makar has Toews

Point is Rielly is a 1D who hasnt ever had a partner who can carry the load bedies him like a lot of other elite D-man get

Leafs have Matthews, Marner, Nylander (and wait for it) Tavares all high AAV players. In a cap world somethings gotta give. If we didn't have Tavares' 11 AAV Leafs could be cooking

I love it. I've thought Lyubushkin was our best realistic option for most of the season. He can do a lot of what Tanev does in the defensive zone for a far lower cost and Rielly-Lyubushkin has already proven to be a serviceable enough pairing to roll out in the playoffs, allowing us to get more out of Brodie as an LD on the second pairing. For a 3rd and a 6th there is no real risk to this deal. It certainly doesn't rule us out from adding another depth D or C before the deadline.

Also, quit talking about Slepets. He is only here because teams are no longer allowed to trade 'future considerations' in exchange for a pick in order to retain cap space. Don't be dumb, he has no future with the Leafs.

I don’t love it as we know what we have in the Russian Bear.

But he provides better depth. Little cap hit and fills in better than Gio.

We didn’t give up a lot considering the chances those picks don’t have much success making the NHL anyways.

I would of like something better but who knows what is on the horizon.

It doesn’t prevent them from playing Rifai. They wouldn’t want to do that for any extended period of time though

Brodie and Lilly were solid together. McCabe with Benoit. Csn get rielly and boosh, or make boosh the 7th and get that 2.

Does it seem realistic that they traded for him to be a 7? Why spend for that? I can't see it, even though thats a better fit for his skills than top 4. They got him to play him.

Gotta say our defence is definitely tough now. I don't want to go all in though.

I wouldn't mind moving Gregor for a pick

This is what the team looks like (when healthy and cap isn't kicking our ass)

Knies-Matthews-Marner
Bertuzzi-Domi-Nylander
Robertson-Tavares-Jankrok
McMann-Kampf-Holmberg/Reaves
Depth Forward/Gregor

Brodie-Liljegren
Rielly-Boosh
Benoit-McCabe
Gio-Lagesson

I think we can add another depth forward for the bottom6 ideally a center incase of injury; and may be another depth D if Gio is sent to LTIR till start of playoffs and Gregor is traded for some more cap room

A little bit of a panic as it seems like Lilly and Gio will be out for a few more games.
But better than giving up Minten and a 1st. Also maybe Boosh will resign for a year or two.
He is going to be good. Hopefully, he can play with Reilly.

I mean, perhaps, but also, maybe the Russian-based scouts saw something.

Also, he's probably good enough for the A, more than that, perhaps not.

I’m replying to your posts, although I’m beginning to question that decision
You should question it because your replies make no sense.

1) Nowhere did I say or even remotely imply that this prevents them from making further moves.

2) You said they need someone for Saturday. I said I'd rather Rifai than waste assets on Boosh.

3) Then you imply I said it prevents the from playing him.

You seem to be making up arguments I didn't say and then responding to them.
