Just like last time, this hardly looks official.

Multiple source confirming he has signed today, even sources which are proNHL/antiKHL. Of course, a contract is official when registered by the league which takes a few days. But that is only a paperwork, technical issue.

He would be given every opportunity to make the NHL. That has already been stated many times. So, prove himself in the KHL or make more money in Minnesota, tough choice, lol.

Is he making more money on an ELC than he is in Russia?

none of this makes sense. unless he had a gun to his head why would he limit his options by signing? why wouldn't he wait until next summer then decide? my head is spinning with confusion.

He likely would be making more than an ELC. I'm sure CSKA has the money to throw around. At some point, KHL teams need to throw big money around and not let the NHL poach their top youn talent. And maybe he wants to be around his family, or maybe Minnesota isn't big enough for him :dunno:

There were multiple sources last time too, until Kaprizov says he's signed, I won't believe it... this is now the third time this claim has been made in the past year... 2nd time on a month. The previous two were completely not true (even though one of those times was supposedly confirmed by his own father), hard to believe it with that kind of history.

:cry::cry::cry:

I thought this might be an issue. He's already a top scorer in the league, and I'm sure the top teams would be willing to pay him lots of money to stay in Russia

This seems to becoming somewhat of a trend in Russia. Stay in your home country, play big minutes, earn some nice cash and then go to NA closer to your mid 20's when you can jump right into the top 6.

Can you blame them. I mean if im 20 yrs old and get offered millions to stay at home where i have my friends and family near me it's a no-brainer. Especially when you see these KHL top guys going to the NHL without a problem, you know the NHL will always be there waiting.

And winners in Russia are treated like kings, as a young man you can only imagine what it would be like to win the KHL title, Olympic gold etc.

And at the end of the day, he'd be 23 after this deal. Same age as Panarin when he came to the NHL.

That was just two days ago. I have a hard time he bothers saying anything if he was so close to signing a new deal.

You have to imagine CSKA threw a ton of money at him. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for him to commit to three years. Anyone know how long the Wild retain his rights?

No transfer agreement, so indefinitely.

Russo isn't convinced...

It is up to you what you believe. Not my problem.

You have to differ sources, not all "so called KHL insiders/journalists" are credible. Some of them have no idea what is going on, others are biased. Of course, sometimes there are translation problems.

I can give you an example of players who signed with a KHL team but the deal was officially announced a few weeks later.

Btw, Kalnins is THE WORST source of KHL information. He says what NA fans want to hear.

Eronko was also denying the reports that came out a month ago, now he says he's signed...

My point is, not a single source saying he's signing is Kaprizov... Just like last year, and like a month ago.

Until KAPRIZOV says he's signing, you have to take this with a grain of salt.

I do not want to advocate anyone.

Eronko is one of credible sources in my eyes.

I googled an article from July 7 where CSKA GM said: "Negotiations with Kaprizov are on a stage when we understand that he is staying 3 more years in Russia." Of course it does not mean he signed on/before July 7, it just means there was a tentative/preliminary deal at the time.

"ÃÂðшø ÿõрõóþòþрÑ‹ Ñ Úðÿрø÷þòыü ÑÂõùчðѠò тðúþù ÑÂтðôøø, чÑ‚þ üы ÿþýøüðõü, чÑ‚þ þý þÑÂтðýõтÑÂѠò Ã*þÑÂÑÂøø õщõ ýð 3 óþôð", - ÑÂúð÷ðû ÕÑÂüðýтþòøч.

Maybe you guys discussed it earlier in the thread. Many Russian journalists & fans describe Kaprizov´s transfer from Salavat Yulaev Ufa to CSKA earlier this year as "a steal." There are more reasons for it (in the eyes of those people), 1. CSKA is owned by Rosneft, I would say 2nd most wealthy KHL club, 2. Rosneft acquired Bashneft (sponsor/owner of SY Ufa team) earlier this year, so now Rosneft de facto owning both CSKA & SY Ufa. So people say that SY Ufa is a farm team of CSKA. These two reasons are behind "Kaprizov´s extention hype" in Russian media, therefore so many contradicting reports.

EDIT: HFB does not accept Cyrillic for some reason.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. I believe Eronko is very credible

This really sucks for Minnesota. I wonder if he escapes the contract after the Olympics?

Wasn't aware that denial and waiting for a credible source to report on this were the same thing.

Yeah, denial would be insisting that he'll definitely be in Minnesota after next season. After over a month of similar "looks like" tweets, reserved uncertainty seems like a reasonable reaction.

Not sure why Minny doesn't just throw everything they have at him to sign him.
