So Vorobyov goes to NA and Kaprizov is traded to CSKA. With recent on-ice results, 2011 seems long ago in Ufa.

so still three years before he can come to NA ?

Team president told on Twitter that Kaprizov had signed for two more years, Kaprizov said shortly after that he had not made his decision. That was at the beginning of July so I think he's in the NHL in 2018.

From a month ago.

That's more wishful thinking than fact on CSKA's part.

What actually happened is that CSKA's jumped the gun about the contract, most likely as a way of pushing Kaprizov to succumb and sign. But Kaprizov later said that he was still thinking about it.

And since then nothing. In all likelihood Kaprizov is stalling.

I need to check on this, but a poster also said, shortly after the hoopla about the contract, that Kaprizov started following The Minnesota Wild on Instagram (I don't have an account, so I can't check). I think there may have been a conversation.

When is this ? Against team canada ?
Btw u seem to know a lot about russian hockey, it might not be the thread but what do you knpw about yegor rylov ?

:cry::cry::cry:

I thought this might be an issue. He's already a top scorer in the league, and I'm sure the top teams would be willing to pay him lots of money to stay in Russia

to prove himself in the ahl for peanuts or amoral money from cska. hm, tough choice, lol

I think you'd have a hard time finding someone who was informed and still thinks Kaprizov would need to "prove" himself in the AHL. I think he'd be a 20 goal scorer in the NHL in 17-18

He doesn't need AHL time he's NHL ready now, he mostly likely would never set foot in the AHL. Too bad.

Toldya'. He will stay and earn some money before facing the prejudiced north american coaches, fans and media.

none of this makes sense. unless he had a gun to his head why would he limit his options by signing? why wouldn't he wait until next summer then decide? my head is spinning with confusion.

He doesn't need three years though. If he came now, after his ELC he would for sure be making some solid money. Now he will have to wait three years and then prove him self at an older age, before being considered for a raise.
