[Thanks to Hugart for posting these gifs on the Wild's board]

Whoever #15 is had some impressive passes on the tape for Kaprizov

Wild rumors circulate through russian press. Kaprizov is supposed to end up with CSKA on a 3yr. contract.

So far just rumors. Also I find it quite unethical to spread them a day before the guy is to play his first playoff game.

if he plays more than one more year in russia, I might as well abandon all hope

This is what I fear. What is stopping CSKA or SKA offering him a zillion dollars to play there? He's already a top player in the league and he's only 20. That type of player is hugely valuable in the NHL

Nah. We Blues fans were terrified of the Tarasenko situation, and look where we are. I'm not saying one has anything to do with the other, but it was a lot of needless worrying.

That needless worrying in NA needs to go really. Drafting a player never means he will be on the team the next year. It is also just about owning his rights in the NHL not control over his career. Of course he can choose to play in the KHL for a couple more seasons. Why not? That doesn't mean he doesn't want to come to the NHL after that.

It's even more hilarious if you consider where he was picked. It's not like the Wild "wasted" a top 10 pick on him.

From our perspective here no player should ever leave to play in games we can't attend or watch. Maybe some NA people should consider that too. You have the priviege to have those players in that league there... for now. We are being robbed of our talent every single year.

Every single minor league team anywhere ever could have the same complaint. The KHL is not unique.

KHL isn't a minor league though.

You have to admit it must be frustrating for the Russians to develop these kids, watch them grow into great hockey players, then leave to play in NA and the NHL.

Not saying it's wrong, NHL is best league in the world for hockey. This happens in all sports, majority of players want to play at the highest level their game offers. KHL is unique though, in some cases, they can match or even exceed the salary given to some players compared to NHL contracts ie; Radulov, Kovalchuck

So telling that some fans believe that every country's league should be enslaved to the NHL.

There's nothing to worry about. I agree with what the Blues fan said, and it was the same situation with Ranger fans and Buchnevich. A lot of worrying, and then nothing came of the worrying. Its why I am not at all worried about whether Shestyorkin will or will not come over.

For Kaprizov and really all Russian players the contract is the bigger worry. I'd be worried about Kaprizov signing a three year contract. Kaprizov could probably play in the NHL this season, if he was playing in NA. Certainly next season he should be playing in the NHL. Waiting three years after this season is way too long.

Kaprizov said, he didn't know anything about him to CSKA, because he's Salavats for another year. http://hcsalavat.ru/news/salavat-yulaev/kirill-kaprizov-u-menya-eshchye-god-kontrakta/

Google translate:

The match against the "Ak Bars" became the first in the CHL playoffs for attacking "Salavat Yulaev" Cyril Kaprizova. The player spoke about his debut:

- In principle, everything is the same as in other games. Maybe, more responsibility, and hockey itself is the same.

- You're a few games could not score points today scored. This return Umark so affected?

- No, those games just did not go, but also had a lot of moments. It turned out that scored today.

- "Ak Bars" is different from the regular season, "Ak Bars" in the playoffs?

- All the same. As they played the last game against us and played today.

- How do you react to the news of the transition in CSKA?

- I do not know, I still have a year contract with "Salavat Yulaev".

And even still, he'd only be 23ish when he came over, so not really the all that bad. A bit inconvenient, but not that bad.

Well, the NHL is the best league in the world. Who wouldn't want to play at the highest level possible? Yeah it sucks for Russians and the KHL but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I don't think most people want the NHL to subjugate the rights of all other leagues, and I'm almost certain most people think that players should have the right to choose not to play in the NHL if they don't want to. Individual rights are a pretty big deal in America.

That said, I think we all see how well these players are developing, and we're eager to see them up close, and especially playing for our favorite teams.

There's a big gap in between wanting an all powerful NHL and wanting to see your favorite players play for your team. I won't blame Kaprizov if he stays in Russia, and I won't blame his team for trying their hardest to keep their best young player, but most guys want to at least try playing at the very highest level of competition they can, so it's rare to see someone stay in a "weaker" league, even if it's just slightly "weaker" in skill. This is just human nature, it's not unique to hockey.

I won't be mad at Kaprizov if he stays in Russia. It's his home. I can respect him wanting to stay there.

Some young people need to wander. Others flourish staying at home. Sokolov and Kaprizov might be opposites in that regard.

There are plenty that have chosen to stay or go home despite getting offers and being more then good enough.

And why does it suck for Russians? Russian fans here are against teenagers going to NA before they went through the full development path in Russia, but no one will complain if Kaprizov leaves for NHL if he is truly ready.

Apparently not, because many Russian players choose to stay at home for a while before testing their skills in the NHL.

Just because the NHL is the highest level of hockey does not mean that every other league should exist solely to serve its interests.
