There are some legendary names on the list. Good company for Kirill.

95/96 is the weakest I would say, as most of the best players were gone by then. And teams weren't yet reinforcing with foreigners.

it's cool seeing the old names. I remember Yakushev. Totally forgot about Zimin. Krutov pretty famous. No idea about Korolyuk.

Even mediocre players left to play elsewhere. The league was garbage from the mid 90s to the early 2000's

94-99 was pretty dismal period in Russian hockey, looking from the outside. A lot of medium quality players moved European leagues to escape the stability issues.

Barkov senior is a good example of a player that was not in the Russian league around then:

His shot comes off the stick so quick and so accurate. there's so much to like about this kid.

Is he expected to complete his KHL contract? In other words, any chance he comes over before 2018/19?

Salavat's GM is sure he'll stay for the next season. Kirill isn't talking about the subject a lot though. I personally think he's ready and should come to the NHL (with the KHL clause, if they send him to AHL), but I'm afraid he doesn't have enough money to buy his contract out.

i's under an impression that kaprizov himself said that he'd fulfill his contract obligation. he wont play in the nhl next year. it'll be moronic to buy his contract, ask plotnikov.

think everything i've read as far as Wild official statements go is that they expect him to stay through his contract.

Probably speed skating, he's very agile, but his speed isn't great. And he doesn't use his slapper at all, not sure he does need it though, because his snap and wrist are very good.

Very few forwards use a slap shot at all these days.

Well, that would be the smart thing to say, even if they didn't think that.
