Lol.. two players isnt bigger than Storm, Knights or Otters.

Agree.

Not a Gennie fanboy, but I'll support.

Watched both games live this weekend; and I must say DJ Smith runs a great team. All the players are playing top notch. Unreal break-out, strong cycle, good depth (Dal Colle on 2nd line)

This coach needs to be talked about, he can be heard all game; right into the game. I am still hoping for London to get out of the other bracket. Solid team though I must say; they are fun to watch.

The way he skates/stick handles reminds me of Malkin. Very up-right with soft hands.

I haven't seen Dal Colle live yet but everything I am reading and the highlights I am seeing of him makes me think of a Cory Perry comparable. How is his compete level and skating?

I somehow think if the Jets pick between "6th" (or maybe 7th) we might get a shot at one of Dal Colle or Draisaitl since the real world draft always has more variance than the media, pundit, fan pre-draft consensus.

agreed 100% im hoping one of those guys fall and Canucks steal it :)

He's quite the player.

Pretty much the whole package that a scout would be looking for. Size, hands, shot, solid first step, creative, versatile, clutch, unselfish.

If he is outside of the top5 I will be really surprised.

Him playing wing dropped him down a bit. Had he put up the numbers he did while playing Center (natural position) there is no doubt that he would be in the same talk as the Sam's. It is no surprise that centers get more recognition, because they are the ones anchoring the line, as apposed to a winger that is known to compliment or play a role (Sniper, PWF etc)

I would argue him playing wing is definitely a plus for Florida and the Islanders, while a negative for Edmonton. Calgary and Buffalo could go either way(ie they could use wingers but they could also use a top line center)

I said this many times before but I don't think their is a better fit in the draft for the Islanders needs then Dal Colle(not that would make me draft him first but if he falls to 4 I would be upset if we passed him up(assuming Reinhart, Ekblad and Bennett go 1-2-3)

I have such a man crush on this Kid...I really Hope the Isles pick 4th instead of 5th and he is available...

With our Luck he will be on the Board and the Isles will go for someone else. Its such a good fit its almost to good to be true.

great recap dannyboy much appreciated! :handclap:

So Jets at #6 have an outside at best shot and we would need The Sam's, Leon, Ekblad to all go then one of Ehlers, Nylander, Fluery, Richie or other to be a mild surprise? Seems like a long shot with such a safe well rounded player like Dal Colle on the board but we shall see

No, with the Islanders' luck someone will win the lottery dropping them back a spot, and Dal Colle gets picked right before. Like when Larsson went to the Devils and the Islanders drafted Strome (although that's looking to be a blessing in disguise).

Hope the flyers make a move to move up and pick Michael Dal Colle

I hope not!

Really wondering what the Flyers do with Laughton next year.

For his sake I hope they give him a line to center; this it would be waste of a creative player if they plug him on the wing and try to play out of his comfort zone. Said the same for Jenner, but he seems to be working out on the wing; so who knows.

Have a feeling come next year B.Schenn will see himself on the rumour board.

Giroux, Couturier, Laughton

(Is a center group I would be drooling over) - Not to mention what Schenn will bring back in a deal, this team really knew how to build; Holmgrem gets the shaft far too often. IMO this team is set up nicer than the cup run with Richards and Carter.

It won't surprise me to see Schenn moved for a LW or a d-man. Philly also has Vinny kicking around who can be the #2 C next year if Laughton needs some AHL time.

Would you choose Laughton going forward over Schenn? I haven't seen enough of Laughton, but I've just figured he'd be the expandable one, not Schenn

I think that Couts becomes the 2nd line C and Laughton the 3rd line one. Not enough minutes for Giroux, Couts and Schenn to maximize value. Of course, in a few years, Laughton may be making us decide on him too. He might progress to needing 2nd line minutes.

B.Schenn as a defenseman.. are u serious? Its kind a hard to think him as a defender as he has played as a center most of the time in juniors and pros.

Most people don't know what a fine young man Michael is. Very mature and very well raised. He has his head on right. Best of luck to him.

It'll be a good problem to have.

I will speak for him and say. He was implying TRADING B.Schenn for a winger or Dman.

I think the reason the Flyers do it:
Schenn likely holds more NHL value.
Laughton has value himself, but would only garner similar prospect in return.
Laughton may fit in nicer on the 3rd line.

I see Laughton panning out as a 2nd line C one day. eerily similar to M.Richards in the way he plays the game.

----------------

For me it is tough to gauge a player to compare, I've seen him enough and its just hard to say Malkin, Perry, Nash, Kesler.

I'm leaning towards a Nash for some reason. Nash has the size, strength, but also compliments it with a good set of wheels and soft hands.

He's not even playing with Laughton anymore and he's producing even more, so people can't use the Laughton argument to take away from his success.

Meh. When Laughton was gone to the WJC I caught a pair of general's games and Dal Colle was invisible. Not only did he not produce but he literally did **** all in every other aspect of the games.

Obviously it was a small sample size but it put me off on him. His scoring tools and abilities are sweet but whenever I watch him i leave wanting more from him.
