Obvious star in the making.
Winnipeg have always drafted some amazing players in the 1st round.
agreedI think this guy was the steal of the draft, even moreso than Barzal. Was a top-six pick for me
Connor seems to be off most radars. I've read the entire thread and this kid has been under the radar all of his career. How does that happen in days like these? Speed, puck handling ability, two way player, size, point getter, leadership what was Boston thinking?

I agree Winnipeg is killing it on the draft floor these days. Connor could potentially be one of the best players in the draft not named Hanifin, Eichel, Mcdavid and perhaps slightly back of Strome. I had these guys on the top tier. But from 5 to 12. Which is where I had Connor. he could be as good as 5. It would not surprise me. Jets always seem to pick players I like. Mark Hillier and his staff are doing an exceptional job.

Clear 1C upside.
Didn't he play LW in the USHL? How many players who player wing in junior come to the NHL and become centers? Usually it's the other way around, Centers in junior become wingers at the NHL level.
It's actually already happened for the Jets with lowry.
Any plans for Lowry becoming a #1C? The only guy I can think of that might have been a winger in junior who became a top line center might be Girioux but even then I think he played Center in junior and only had a short stint on the wing his first year in the NHL.
Not on the USA wjc squad. Odd, I feel like they could've used a speedy winger like him
I am too lazy to look but isn't there some sort of USA hockey/Kyle Connor battle going on or something?
I remember hearing a while back that people wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get a WJC invite
I swear there is some bad blood between them and that's why he played USHL and not National Development team
I don't think there is any evidence of him having Canadian citizenship (plus I don't want a national team of mercenaries). Brett Hall had an american mother and Connor already represented the USA at the IIHF WJC U-18.seriously, if that`s the case Team Canada should send him a tryout. Just like When Bret Hull threw a temper tantrum when he didn`t make team Canada. Didn`t make team Canada play for team USA, lol.
Connor is the biggest snub of all US camp invites, really don't understand it. Did he start playing like garbage after getting rookie of the month or something?
Biggest snub? Not really.
