On a complete sidenote for some reason I see this guy being the Kings pick at 13th(unless he is picked before then). He just seems to have a kings vibe to him

Although he would be a great pick for the Kings, I don't see it happening. Lombardi doesn't like guys in Michigan, he harshly criticized the Coach of Michigan for his deployment and usage of Jack Johnson 1 year after he was drafted. I think he goes to Dallas or Boston, but as a flames fan I would be over the moon if we could land him. I wouldn't be surprised if we went 9th to the sharks, but he could fall to the early teens due to less exposure in the USHL. He reminds me of Larkin, and I think that a lot of teams are going to regret passing up on him in a few years.

Winnipeg drafts so smartly. Best player available. Well done.

It's kinda sad, I didn't do much research on this guy at all because I didn't think he would be available by a longshot. Thanks Sweeney!

edit: the funny side story about this is Red Berenson. He was pissed when we signed Trouba. He was REALLY pissed when we signed Copp. Now we drafted another one of his guys. I love it.

Connor and Ehlers on the wing. That is some serious speed and skill. Great job Jets.

I read some scouting reports that he compares to Marian Gaborik and Patrick Kane.

Matt Duchene is who he compares himself to , and that is a good fit . Taller but high tempo, fast , handles the puck at high speed very well , point producer .

Fwiw, lots of Flyers fans wanted him as our pick if we were going with a forward at #7. We regard him very highly. We were all talking about trying to trade up for him from #29 when Boston was picking 2nd round talent.

Great pick.

Still super happy that we got him, but am a bit bummed that we won't see anything from him until at least next year. Seeing all of the other first round picks sign their ELCs makes it more poignant that Chevy drafted a bunch of NCAA players with his picks this year.

Was that Michigans first game? I cant beileve the prospect pool that the Jets have assembled since moving to winnipeg.

They had one exhibition game against a clearly inferior opponent where most of the Wolverines players skater around looking lost. This was the first regular season game.

Devils fan...just wanted to say you guys had a great draft. I was really hoping Roslovic and Harkins would've been available and on our radar in the 2nd. The Connor pick speaks for itself, although I'm happy with the Zacha pick and we couldn't have even hoped to get both. Roslovic/Harkins > Palmieri/Blackwood.

Connor with another goal today... good start to his NCAA career: 2 gp, 3g, 1a
