Still can't believe how far this guy fell. I remember watching Boston cruise through their 3 picks and just laughing that they took neither Connor nor Barzal. Dallas and Boston seemed like two natural fits and they'll both be regretting it.

No they won't, both teams went with who they felt would be best fits.

If Boston knew how dominant he is playing they would find a way to make him fit.

Just because the Bruins went with who they thought would be the best fit doesn't mean they didn't make a mistake or won't regret not taking Connor.

You might be right, but Trouba and Larkin both seemed more physically ready for the NHL than Connor. I think Connor seems less likely than either of them to jump to the NHL. On the other hand, it's hard to see how he'll be able to exceed his performance at the NCAA level.

Connor is as physically ready as Ehlers and we saw the club was willing to make that work and it doesn't seem like Ehlers has suffered at all.

Not to mention the club has the option to also develop Connor in the AHL which was not an option Ehlers had.

Personally I think they sign him.

You might be right. I guess it also depends on how ready Connor feels he is.

Not a doubt in my mind he turns pro after this season, same as Larkin last year.

I expect Michigan to lose Motte, Compher, Connor, Werenski to the pro ranks next year.. Yikes that's a ton of firepower gone.

For sure. If Racine can provide consistent goaltending for Michigan this year they are a Championship contender. Best offense in the NCAA by a fair margin.

disagree. But we will see. Big 10 is just not consistently challenging night in and night out for me for them to win it all later on.

Still can't believe this kid wasn't selected and white was. Damn, good on him, jets have a good one in him

White is an exceptional talent in his own right. there are other players on that roster that did not deserve to be there over Connor. If this level of play is in response to the USA hockey snub, then thanks for lighting that fire under him.

Of all players to choose you go with White??? There was no way that White wasn't going to be there. Ever.
The guys spot he probably would of fit best in was DeBrincat, who was hard to turn down due to his amazing start to the year. Boeser would of been another reasonable choice if they wanted a pure energy 4th line. White was taken as a center, they weren't even competing for the same spot, and they seem to favor USNDP guys for obvious reasons. Connor should have been there, but putting him on and not taking White would of been just as dumb. He was basically competing with Tkachuk, Boeser, Milano, Debrincat, Ryan MacInnis and Dvorak (was switched on and off the wing).

unsure how it works schedule wise after the scheduled games are completed but as of now he has 5 scheduled games left... would be awesome to see him average 2 points a game in those remaining games and end off with 63 points in 34 games.

sorry for lack of NCAA knowledge, but after these last 5 games, whats next? How many more games will he play this year?

I believe if they make it all the way to the ncaa finals he will play 6 more games, so 40 in total.

Watched the game last night. Rooting for Minnesota so I'm not biased.

Kyle Connor was definitely the most impressive player on the ice. He has sweet poise and movement on the powerplay. He is a good, speedy skater who fluidly jumps into high-danger scoring areas at times when defenders may not notice him. I missed the last couple minutes of the game and I missed his breakaway goal. He needs to learn to get his release off faster as NHL goalies will be much quicker to cover the post when the puck slides to him. But he was in dangerous scoring areas all night. I didn't get to see how he looked defensively. I could see him going pro next year, but that may be too soon. It may be better for play another year in the NCAA or in the AHL.

Probably the AHL at this point. He needs a progression

NASTY sauce on the Motte goal tonight. My lord. Not sure how to post tweets.

All I can say is that he's very impressive in person and as fast as advertised.

Winnipeg got a hell of a player, and I can't see him staying in the NCAA for long.

who has more pro potential, Motte or Compher? I know Motte is small but is he Paul Byron small, or Brendan Gallagher small?
