Well it definitely wasn't 3 feet in the air. It wasn't on the ice, yeah, but it's not getting to Wideman unless it's in the air, not sure what else he was supposed to do. It was a good rush for Gaudreau and a good play to get it across to Wideman, and Wideman did a good job batting it out of the air. No one is saying anything about Gretzky.

Gaudreau's 20 points on the season puts him 2nd in Rookie scoring, 5 back of Forsberg.

He now has 17 points in his last 17 games, and 5 points in his last 3 games.

His 16 assists this year have him ranked 16th among all NHLers in that category.

He's 5th overall in the league in take-aways at 25.

He's also 25th in the league at +/- currently sitting at +10.

And he's yet to clock a minute in the box.

I can safely say he's exceeded my expectations. I knew he had the skill, but his game had translated very well, offensively and defensively. He can play 5-on-5.

I was thinking 40pts would be a great rookie year and then readjust expectations from there. He looks like he might be the player CGY fans dreamed of - our miniature 0.85 * Patrick Kane with some Datsyuk stick skills mixed in.

Id also like to point out to the Oiler trolls, tiny no-good rookie Gaudreau would be:

Leading

Your

Team

In

Points.

Not to take away anything from Gaudreau, who's been nothing short of exceptional, but that means absolutely NOTHING. Zip. Nada. Nothing.

How does it mean nothing. Really, do go on.

Your implication is that if he were on the Oilers, he'd be outscoring the likes of Hall, RNH and Eberle. Calgary has had a great start, and that generally translates into higher points per person. Edmonton is atrocious. Gaudreau would not have NEARLY the same kind of support in Edmonton as he does in Calgary.

No, our implication is based on the fact that so many Oiler fans claimed JG a bust. We're rubbing it back in their faces that Johnny has more points than any Oiler as of now.

Which is more than fair. I'm just saying disingenuous to claim that Gaudreau would be the leading scorer in Edmonton. Review my post history on Gaudreau - most of it is praise.

Man, I love how most of the hockey world has changed their opinion on our Johnny Gaudreau. But let's NOT be become that insufferable fan base that snaps at everyone. It seems that if anyone comments on our team with less than remarkable praise, sarcastic responses are almost the norm. The Calgary fan base is slowly becoming the next CDC:shakehead

Dont see what is so great about the pass? A pass that has to be smacked in isnt a good pass and i bet Johnny would be the first one to admit that wasnt his intention on his pass...

The better plays were him going around the dman and wideman actually hitting it in, lol
