So lots of people? Good answer well supported.
The answer fit the question. You asked "how many"... The answer is "thousands".
It doesn't need to be supported, it's just fact.

He's probably a 2nd line player best case scenario. Nothing to get worked up about.

These are all completely different cases. And yes im aware that every year ufa's are signed the circumstances around this case are completely different. Its a punk move if in fact he was dishonest with his intentions to start with. I was responding to the statement that he has earned this right. How did he earn this? By waiting 4 yrs and being dishonest with the organization that drafted him? Sorry but i dont see how that earns him any special rights. Like i said in another thread Eric Lindros didnt want to play for Quebec and he got ripped apart for it. But at least they were able to get a return on there asset. And many people thought Lindros was a punk most of his career for that still. Yet as long as its the NCAA route this is acceptable behavior and he shouldnt be branded the same way??
The Boston Herald is reporting that a very well-respected source within college hockey says Jimmy will sign with the Bruins.

I was asked to show examples of players getting free agency without playing in the NHL, who cares if they are different?
EVERY player is different. Each league has rules. And just how do you earn free agency in your eyes? IS 23 years old ok? 25? 30? Never? What is the magic date that a player should be a free agent in your eyes? Or should a plyer simply be forced to sign a contract with whomever drafted him or rot in purgatory forever if he doesn't, something that is not only illegal, it is also wrong, something none of us would stand for in our own lives and removes all negotiating power from the player in question.
I agree with you that Vesey should have been more upfront about his intentions from the sounds of things but that's just being a dick. There's not much you can implement into the CBA to prevent someone from being a dick.

If he did actually state his intention of signing with Nashville, so what. Contracts are written and signed, not verbalized and sealed with a handshake.
All the negative backlash he's been receiving for not being 100% up front with Nashville is warranted.
But the character attacks are unfounded.
This is a really smart kid, he clearly has strong convictions as to why he would want to test free agency and not take the deal Nashville is offering (a spot in the top-6 on a playoff team and a year burnt off his ELC). The ONLY reason I could see for him making such a bold move after giving every indication he would sign with Nashville, is that he feels very strongly about being able to choose the city and organization he signs with. To me that could be none other than the Boston Bruins.
It makes total sense to me. Boston sorely needs complimentary wingers in the Top 6. Eriksson is likely leaving as a UFA and I doubt they'll get any asset in return for that. So this is a huge coup in that sense for the B's. I personally couldn't be more happy for Vesey if this is how this plays out. A chance to play for your beloved hometown NHL team is just the total icing on the cake after everything he's achieved in his NCAA career. I hope he is a great player for them for a long time!
Jimmy Vesey speaks fluent Mandarin (Chinese).
How many people have watched this guy play recently? Is he really going to walk into a 2nd line spot and not be out of place? It's a big jump to make going from the ECAC - NHL; is he one of the few who can step right in?
ECAC is hovering around the 3rd or 4th in terms of the most competitive conferences in hockey.
3rd line at best to start
3rd round.
