He got suspended for a joke of a call because he's a joke of a personality. Tom Wilson can't wait until Brenden Lemieux is in the NHL so the refs stop penalizing Wilson anytime he touches the ice.

Weird. I listen to this very recent interview and think he's anything but a "joke of a personality".

I'm sure you have very good reasons for the hyperbole though.

Back on topic: what a ****ing joke of a call and suspension. Embarrassing for the OHL. They should feel shame.

Only a "joke of a league" bases its suspensions on those considerations.

Very obviously talking about his on-ice personality. But you knew that. I haven't seen a CHL player this hated by Refs and the league since Kassian.

Nice. Three-plus years of being a complete butthead, suspended by hockey regulating bodies on multiple occasions, traded by teams in two different leagues all erased in your mind because he can answer softball questions in complete sentences.

Wow, Windsor better be able to appeal THAT. Ridiculous. OHL should be embarrassed.

No, that wasn't obvious at all. Good thing he'll be leaving the CHL soon then! Hopefully he does fine in his next league, don't you agree?

So you are saying you see something on that play that deserves a 2 game suspension?

Slew foot is an automatic match penalty, so the right call was on the ice even if was minor. That being said, no need for a suspension on the play. Total reputation call.

I am not even a little bothered about the play or the suspension, bad call or not. Won't affect him. I'm also not worried he's going to be a liability. I am dying for someone like this to be on the Jets. I want people to bleed when he looks at them too quick. I'll take a dumb penalty here and there in exchange for finally having some players with a scary side.

I am dying to have a team that doesn't lead the league in bonehead minor penalties but I sense you will get your wish and I will continue to suffer and wait for the bingo game at the end of the season as the only meaningful event.

That being said a suspension for two games on this play is laughable.

Bad reffing is par for the course in the OHL. It only draws attention and outrage from the general population of posters when their prospect has a bad call made against them. It's just funny to see so many outraged posts like this happening is some kind of surprise in the OHL.

Does the OHL have an appeal process for a suspension like this? Have the Spitfires appealed Lemieux' suspension?

Wow that's a reputation call and suspension if I've ever seen it.
He'll fit right in on the Jets.

Kevin Cheveldayoff said:
"The discipline side of the game, he’s really matured. As a 19-year-old player on those teams, you’re counted on to be a leader. And I think it’s hard to lead from the box at times. He’s done his leading on the ice."

Brendan Lemieux said:
"Any time you have intense competition, it means that your group is strong," Lemieux said. "So obviously I don’t just want to play, I want to win and if I was to play, the stronger the group"

"I want to earn a job; I don’t just want to walk into one. I think right now what’s in my control is to come here and show that I’m ready to play the pro style of game. I need to work my way in and I’m ready to do so."

Seems to me like he has a good personality? Huh.

I'm a big fan of Brendan and I think he's going to be a big factor if the Jets ever make it to the finals.

What I see 3 years from now.....

Laine/Scheifele/?

Ehlers/Connor/?

Lemieux/Lowery/?

Lemieux and Lowery could potentially add 15-20 goals each from the third line. That's the kind of dept you need if you hope to be a contender one day.

Makes sense. I'm pretty excited to see if Brendan can make the team this season. He'll have a ton of competition but I wouldn't be suprised if he stole a job on the 4th line.

As for your projections in 3 years... How about:

Laine/Scheifele/Ehlers
Conner/Little/Wheeler
Lemieux/Lowry/Dano

The oldest players will be Wheeler (33) and Little (32) in 3 years.
