That's my point. He's always had the talent. If he can drop the gooning he can and will be an NHLer I think.

I don't think anyone questioned that he had NHL upside? He's not exactly a high-skill player though, nor is he a stud defensively. He's a crash-and-banger with a nose for the net.

Fair enough. My point's that he was already a proven goalscorer in the OHL but hasn't really shown whether he's grown beyond that with regards not only to his mental lapses but his general play outside of goalscoring. He's an interesting prospect, one I think is pretty certain to be an NHLer.

That's true, he's not a pure "skill" guy in the sense in you won't be wowed with his puck skills but he has solid hands and can also set up plays as well. He is actually a pretty well rounded player, minus the discipline but I think that is correctable. He can play in a third line role, but he has a great shot and will go to the net hard. I think he will eventually be a 20-20 guy in the NHL.

I think most Jets fans will be happy if he's an effective 4th liner who is hard to play against and can score some goals now and again.

If he turns into a solid 3rd liner, or anything better, that's a real bonus.

Jets' coach Maurice really loved him in training camp, and he's usually pretty reserved with praise for prospects. Obviously, Lemieux was doing things that the coaches appreciated.

As a fan, his skating was a bit better than I expected. He has a nice shot. If he stays disciplined while playing physical, he'll find his way onto an NHL roster.

I think that's a pretty realistic expectation. I always had his upside pegged as a 2nd-3rd line tweener w/ 20G potential.

Brendan Lemieux

Great game last night in Kitchener. 1st game of the playoffs.
Windsor's leading 3-0 towards the end of the first period. Brendan Lemieux (Winnipeg prospect) slew foots a Kitchener player....five minute major.
Kitchener scores 3 PP goals. Final score 6-5 Kitchener in OT.
Wonder if Lemieux plays again for Windsor?

It was a very weak call and even if it wasn't why would they sit one of their most effective players.

Are you new to hockey? That's not something that's uncommon (5 minute major turning the tide), and it doesn't get a good player benched in the playoffs.

Weak call but Lemieux has been an idiot throughout his junior career.

Smarten up.

At this point he should know better than to put himself in a position to be targeted by the refs.

Wow, nice misrepresentation on the situation. Should have figured it out from the "great game" comment that you are a Kitchener fan just trying to stir crap up. Why is this a topic in prospects?

what BS by the OHL. Suspended for what? the act on the ice or the slamming the stick against the boards on the way out. I suppose they want him to bend over and take a complete joke of a penalty without reacting at all.

There should be an appeal process in the OHL, because this deserving anything more than a 2 minute penalty let alone a 2 game suspension is complete rubbish.

I still have no idea how someone can call that a slew foot. He never pulled him back over his leg, he never stuck out his leg in the first place. He rubbed him out and the guy fell over his leg and tried to grab onto Lemieux with his arm, and then thought he was getting a penalty for holding.

He got suspended for a joke of a call because he's a joke of a personality. Tom Wilson can't wait until Brenden Lemieux is in the NHL so the refs stop penalizing Wilson anytime he touches the ice.
