I was thinking he was like andrei as well, all tools with no toolbox. But we will see in time.

This hasn't been the case from what I've seen.

I think people try way too hard to find flaws in Kaliyev's game simply because he's very bad socially - likely with a disorder of some sort. They let it cloud their judgment and as a result are unable to objectively assess him as a player. Kaliyev will be an absolute steal. I thought he'd have been a steal at 15, even.

He's there to play hockey, even if he can't have a proper conversation that doesn't matter as long as he's effective on the ice.

If you think defensive effort for a sniping winger is some deal-breaker at 18 yo, rethink your values.

He reminds me more of Vanek than Kostitsyn.
