Are there any fresh rumours or anything?

It's been way too quite the last couple of days.

What makes me laugh is that everyone thought there would be a flurry of activity right after the lockout.

It's only beed a couple days but nothing really. Certainly nothing of significance and I don't anticipate there to be much movement. Remember, most teams had their rosters set in Sept for the upcoming season anyways - things didnt change too much out of the new CBA.

If a team craps the bed in the first 10 games, they are done.

Also, I HIGHLY doubt, Nonis will flip out and give Gardiner, Rielly and Kadri for Luongo like some people think he will do. He already said it makes no sense to get these building blocks, and then tear them down. He will only trade youth for youth.

I didnt say to give them all our young guys lol i said one of....its shouldnt take more then franson bozak one of gardiner frattin kadri etc ....and I was being sarcastic bout Reimer crapping the bed in the first 10 games b4 nonis wakes up and makes a move. I understand he doesnt want to mortgage the future...but to get elite talent regardless of how bad his contract is you need to give something the other team wants...best case scenario we lose franson bozak and hopefully its Kadri goin the other way...and we get Luongo and Raymond. But as i said if not Im ok with seeing how Reimer does...this short season is a joke anyway if we dont make the playoffs we dont we have a proper full season to do so plus maybe be can score Mackinnon.

But it seems as if MLSE is back in the driver seat not the leafs GM. Burke had full bore when he was GM and only had to TELL the board what he was doing not ask asp his contract...Nonis has to consult the board and listen. I really think we are working on several moves right now...Nonis did say that we dont have all the pieces yet and may require trades to get those pieces. This Luongo deal is complex we take him on we need to move cap out and if Van isnt going to take enough cap back then we have to move other guys elsewhere....Connolly Lambo Komi for example....though I think Komi is staying because of his size and ability to hit esp after losing schenn the only big hitter dman we have is Phaneuf. Anyway I just want this Luongo thing to end already

Media suggested a flurry of activity...and so far nothing you are correct sir. But there is a lot going on right now. Teams signing guys they want...that they couldnt talk to during the lockout...also talking to player agents if there is a deal they want to do with another team...practices, physicals to pass things of that nature. Im looking for it to heat up the next cpl days. I doubt teams want to wait to shed cap space in June that is a lot of pressure and where mistakes are made they need to do it over time. Right now is nobodies goin here and there as soon as one larger deal goes through then the pins should start dropping !

I miss hockey but this 48 game season is kinda joke. It takes teams a cpl weeks to get into true game form...as such whatever team(s) jump to a quick start lock themselves into the post season...teams that fall early wont be able to make it up. Another reason why if a GM is sitting on a big deal that can upgrade his team immediately time is now b4 the short season starts...any deal after the first cpl weeks of the season wont save a team this year itll be too late

Word out of Dallas is that he is not close to signing a contract, and is currently not at Stars camp. If Dallas doesn't wanna pony up, maybe we can throw an offer-sheet or trade for him? He is a legit #1 IMO. TONS of skill, young (only 23), and an absolutely perfect match for Kessel.

Would be awesome, but would cost a fortune. He's also said he has no desire to play in a big market.

He wont be traded or unsigned. He's just way too valuable for them.

He'd be an amazing young player to our team but just can't see it.

Benn would be great but it would cost us something like grabo or kule....

all i know is....IF we get luongo the makeup of our team changes...we cant just take on that big contract without making other moves....and with Komisarek being a big body with Schenn gone I see connolly and or lambo moving out to give us some cap space again

Benn isnt worth Reilly or Gardiner he just had a break out year and ya he is good but if we dont wanna give up either for an allstar goalie in Luongo good luck giving either up for Benn...now Gunnarsson that would be a guy that Dallas may want

I'd say they think he's more valuable/better than Neal and they got Goligoski for Neal which IMO is comparible to Gardiner

yes.....cpl reports that leafs arent just looking at luongo and i have inside info saying they have talked to pitts about MAF but for obvious reason pitts is in no rush
