I don't want Kadri to be traded but his value would be much higher if they give him a full time roster spot.

I've heard/read multiple rumors that Philly is in on Lu. I wouldn't be surprised if Lu ends up in Philly. They need a goalie band. The Flyers faithful would love Lu... I don't think Lu would have a problem being dealt to the Flyers either. Last I heard there was a potential three way deal tor/van/phi .....I'm not counting Philly out on this one.

What would the Leafs get out of a potential three way deal? Bryz? What a nightmare that would be, Bryzgalov under the spotlight in Toronto.

I don't think the Leafs value Bryz. or would go after any goalie that Philly currently employs.

Agreed. I doubt there's a three way deal to be made. Leafs will either get Lu, or play Reimer/Scrivens.

I agree. The Toronto media would destroy Bryz. That guy is in a meat grinder as it is...He'd never make it here.

Surprised that we havent got lu yet...or at least another #1 goalie....heard leafs are interested in Marc Andre Fleury as well. Watching Nonis and Gillis interviews seems like neither team is blinking BUT I really believe that Burke was fired not only for failure to make playoffs, and not bcause some one in ownership didnt like him BUT because he was sitting on the Luongo deal and un willing to pull the trigger. As long as we keep several of our big time prospects Im ok with losing one....if we lose Gardiner Id be pissed BUT we have Reilly waiting in the wings and he comes more highly touted offensively...the player I could care less if we lose is Kadri. The kid has elite talent in the AHL but everytime he is called up he falters...being a first round pick youd think he be playing for us right now ! Aucoin and Hamilton look very close to NHL ready...Aucoin already played in playoff games with Washington and looked good against us at the end of last year...I believe he scored a cpl goals in our final meeting vs the caps.
In any case it looks like we are in rebuild mode again. Signing Mike Mottau the rumor of signing Steve MacIntyre...two big brutes (though I hope Mottau is replacing a guy in the Marlies who is a lock to make the big squad). If we are going to rebuild...do it around a marquee goalie like Luongo OR MAF....the only thing i dont like about Luongo is his contract...that aside he would be our best goalie since Eddie the Eagle...and in my mind Luongo is way more talented.
Some of the reason I think this deal is taking longer too is I have a feeling we want Mason Raymond...a young speedy up and comer that I feel would be a good fit on our team. If we were to get Luongo and Raymond the only thing missing is a true star center and maybe a vet like Arnott.
A lot of ppl forget we over achieved first cpl months last year..then we played how I think we were capable and were 5th or 6th in the conference before the wheels fell off. Also I wouldnt mind seeing what a healthy Reimer can do. Again a lot of ppl for get he got his bell rung hard by Gionta who should have been suspended accident or not. Look at Ryan Miller...he played terrible for a cpl months after his concussion before finding is game..but one huge key difference Miller is a veteran and Reimer's a rookie and honestly there is way more pressure in Toronto. I have always liked Reimers rapore with the media, his attitude is perfect to play anywhere esp under the spotlight...so if we dont get LU for this short season its all good...lets see what the kid can do if we miss the playoffs oh well its a shortened season...lets work out the bugs and worry about 2013/2014

I don't think we expect anything from him. Much like most later round goalie picks, if you get something out of them, consider yourself lucky. It seems with a few exceptions, goalie picks are like lottery tickets.
I would imagine that's why they drafted him yeah. Goalies are so hard to predict though, that's why they rarely get drafted in the first round.
He's very much a long term project and will have to earn every inch. If he puts it together, I don't see why he can't be a starter. Too early to tell one way or another. We need to see him go pro first.

also i hope someone namely us gets luongo soon this is getting tiresome everyday the banter on here the talk amongst tsn and sportsnet analysts....i guess Jshannon was wrong that a deal would be annouced almost immediately after cba ratified...guess his credibility just took a massive hit !
But you really gotta wonder...if we dont get him before game one of the season if we get him at all? I think the window is between now and saturday and if not Reimer would have to crap the bed in first 10 games for Nonis to say omfg we need to upgrade in net.

If a team craps the bed in the first 10 games, they are done.
Also, I HIGHLY doubt, Nonis will flip out and give Gardiner, Rielly and Kadri for Luongo like some people think he will do. He already said it makes no sense to get these building blocks, and then tear them down. He will only trade youth for youth.
