He will turn S.Jones from -37 to a more acceptable -7 and with than +30 differential gained,LR will be hailed as a genius....of course it means we can forget the Bedard steps unless they trade Kanecand D-Cat.. Hawks honigvtobgave to pkayca or of 3-2 games..May lose mist ofv hem but at least be more competitive.

I do not think Richardson will tolerate basic poir clearing that has plagued the Hawks in theirvown zone. Shameful that fans had to witness 4 failed attempts to exit before finally (maybe) succeeding on thec5thvattempt (thatviscIF the puck was already not in back of our net for a goal agaibst.

Just making competent clearsxandcexits shouldcut doen of goals agaibst ...but depends if Hawks deliberately want to Tank with inclmpetentvvetvdmen or live with the kids who willbe more comoetentvat the basics...

I hope the Force is strong with this one.

Does anyone know what style of play he espouses?

When he was a head coach in AHL who did he develop into a quality NHLer?

I'm not sure that I like his coaching trajectory, NHL assistant for 3 seasons, AHL head coach for 4 seasons and then 5 more seasons as NHL assistant, but I can be persuaded.

All of the good Islanders young dmen of the Trotz era started out under him in the 1 year with the Islanders.. i think i looked it up wrong, not Devon Toews, but it was basiclly the start for Mayfield, Pelech, and Pulock.

He may or may not turn into a good coach, but his having punched someone would be a dumb reason to get excited about the hire.

He’s the real deal, he’s a good coach no matter how he does and the knockout punch is just to show you how he played the game even at game 1350, he’s a serious dude who’s serious about winning

No clue.

My minimum requirement was that he has been head coach before, preferably in NHL.

Surprised that it wasn't King, time will tell is that good thing.

Here's my real question, kidding aside. Have we hit rock bottom yet as far as team culture? I get we'll be bottom 5 & hopefully have a shot at Bedard, but the country club is doomed now right?

It's been said that players will go through walls for Luke.
This is going to be helpful.
All things considered I am as happy or even happier with LR as HC over any of the other experienced coaches just hired or about to be hired.
Time will of course tell and given the Hawks will most certainly be a bottom 10 team having a " players coach " can only help to deal with the predominance of "L's" this upcoming season or three.
